These helicopters are part of an alternate history faction in the periphery, the Crossroadian Republic: A relatively high-tech but small-ish branch in the Periphery who originated from Kerensky's Exodus Fleet.
The Mirage helicopter is an icon of the Crossroadian Army due to its intense ruggedness for a VTOL design and its resilience to heavy anti-aircraft weapons like LB-X Autocannons and the HAG series. However, it's far from their only VTOL that sees combat in the modern battlefield; Lessons and experiences from the Mirage have been applied to several other VTOLs.
After seeing the effectiveness of the Mirage, the Crossroadian Navy created their own attack helicopter. Dubbed the Illusion, this new prototype helicopter was very similar to the Mirage (The Illusion has a slightly modified, lighter version of the Mirage's chin turret). In fact their capabilities largely overlap. The Illusion is lighter and 25% faster than the Mirage with a better rate of climb, but the Mirage is overall better protected against heavy weaponry and carries a higher payload. The Illusion lacks the Mirage's legendary resilience but it's built to operate over oceans easily with minimal maintenance. Civillians and military members debate the merits of the Mirage vs the Illusion, but overall which one is truly the "better" attack helicopter is largely a matter of taste.
The Crossroadian Army itself found converting the entire combat helicopter fleet to Mirages to be overly expensive and unnecessary and developed a much lighter attack helicopter for medium and low-intensity combat. The Wraith Light Attack VTOL is about 2/3rds the weight of a Mirage and carries a payload similar to the Mirage D variant, giving it good punch for its size. However, even with the advanced Ferro-Lamellor armor type the Wraith's durability is rather wanting, theoretically being core-able from the rear by a well placed Large Re-Engineered Laser blast. This is found as an acceptable tradeoff for a vehicle that's half as expensive as the original Mirage Attack Helicopter.
The Army also modernized its VTOL reconnaisance wing with new, compact ultralight VTOL designs: The Phantom is a very swift 11-ton with basic self-defence ordnance and and active probe, with limited protection against anti-aircraft guns. Often, the Phantom also carries a TAG underneath one of its two hardpoints. The Spectre is slower but carries a more powerful Bloodhound probe and C3 slave for coordination with fire support elements, and can survive more stray hits than the Phantom. Carrying a TAG on a pod mount is also common practice for the Spectre.
The Army has experimented with stealth armor-augmented VTOLs to augment air-mobile infantry. The lighter Ghost is as swift as the Wraith and can ferry a Crossroadian 6-man point of AC40 Main Battlesuits, two points of AC20 Sniper Suits, or a full platoon of jump infantry to the front. The heavier (and slower) Shadow, meanwhile, can carry any Crossroadian non-mechanized infantry groups that are regularly fielded, including the deadly AC80 Assault Suit. However, no stealth armor equipped attack helicopter has been attempted by any branch of the Crossroadian Armed Forces.
