Well.. I was playing around and wondered how i could use a pair of RAC5's in a assault mech that wasnt totally sinfully slow and able to take a pounding.. few hours later this thing, came outta my head o.O may have broken TDB, again, but its a interesting design. Also been playing with the capacity of the Light engine after reading about it in the BMR/MT book. And, my god 82 damage.. I, really hadn't considered the shred power of the RAC5 until like.. now. MW4:mercs really dosent show you what the guns do unless your looking at the hard specs.. wow.

Targeting
Overview: After several financial bad mooves, and design flaws, the merc regiment turned 'mech producers; fielded this after battle data on the Fafnir and several other technolgical components. Design began, several prototypes were built, each growing in tonnage from the orginal 65 tons to a massive assault class mecha. Initial designs called for heavier lasers and smaller auto cannons, but due to a recent salvage purchase, the rotary tech fell ingo JMY hands and a slow, exsaustive and expensive amout of dissection and reverse engineering began, five months later thier RAC, equivilant to others in the Houses, was fielded under secrecy. Four redesigns, two spies and a theft of blueprints later the Hellbourn was finished. Though expensive massive and lacking in any specalized sensors and considered by several to be one of the ugliest mechs ever built, its firepower is obvious. The design's armor was improved after a small finacial windfall due to a long standing salvage contract, allowed Jmy to gain Ferro armor in decent supply. The design itself is massive, no graceful lines or portions; most of the mech hard angles and blocks; the armor config designed to appear to be bladed on the legs and torso via the use of angled flanges. The narrow, angled cockpit itself is even designed with a pair of stubbed curved horns over each side. The armor is also 'pocked' intentinally, false bullet holes and scar marks placed here and there on the mech to add to its growing reputation as unkillable, in addition the mech's feet have been fashioned into realistic looking dragons talons and the armor itself has a defined scaling pattern to it. Each arm is also given the impression of dragons talons with shaped flanges around the laser weaponry. Internally the mech has been designed to carry the new Light class fusion engine along with a host of double heat sinks. Though the weaponry is based around the hefty RAC5, its secondary weapons are designed for close range use, consisting of four standard small lasers and a medium laser to add that extra bit of in close punch. Too offset the accuracy factor of the RAC systems, a variable range targeting system has been included, a late addition. Earily in the testing phases, against a pair of Victor mechs, the single Hellbourn at the time managed to devistate one totally with a single hard barrage and severaly wound the other before scumbing to ammunition jams, the mechs primary problem. Other then the jamming problem, its heat curve is slightly higher then the venting capacity, a flaw that can prevent the mech from performing well in a heavy engagement,also the weapons themselfes are forward fixed being able to fire ahead in a 120 degree arc only unless the mechs torso is moved. Though the mech's price tag is high, nearly 20million; and JMY is only capable of small production due to the war and TfS's needs, the Hellbourn is a viable assault mech, well armed and armored and slightly faster then some other assault classes out there; a vital advantage at times.

Battle History: Orginally intended as a Fafnir style assault mech to be sold to the IS in general. This Jmy, inc, assault design was purchased by the coordinator once its destructive potential was realized. As of 3064 only a handful of lances have been built mostly inside Luthien space and with select parts purchased or stolen from others; the unit itself has seen hard combat, wielding both massive armor and massive weapons the mech can gun down almost any mech it encountes with a few bursts of its autocannons; making up what it lacks in style for sheer firepower.
