Well, I think that's obvious!
They start making plastic miniatures of the Mechs and vehicles they used to make. And then they package them in boxes that don't indicate what's in the box, so the buyer can't tell if they're buying an Atlas or a Locust or an AgroMech. And then they release the new products to the entire Inner Sphere, where young and old alike delight in spending money hand over fist trying to find that one good Mech to squash their friends and loved ones' forces with. The unused, worthless Mechs and vehicles get turned into the recycling center, where the factories buy up the plastic in bulk, and then the cycle repeats again and again!

Mech factories won't be building squat other than mechs. IMO, the machinery to make mechs is largely too specialized. You might be able to salvage machine tools and electronic fabbers for smaller components, but the factory as a whole is a write off.
In reference to MW:DA, it seems the Tikonov mech factories simply switched to industrial mech production.

The factorys stay in busness making mechs, just with huge metal disks on there feet to keep them from moving, These then replace Garden Gnomes.
