ne1 else see that US military guy (i am not 100% anti US military) talking bout their possible capture of terrorist no. 2. (kinda quote) "when it comes to big fish, the whale doesn't get any bigga" juuuh? i hope i just missed some american joke, or else that guy is stupider than, wel some1 really stupid. {to clarify, a whale is not a fish, itsa mammal}

I agree with Cray, he was probably using a "colloquialism" (an expression, or a local or regional dialect or expression) but a "whale" is also a term that casinos or other gambling establishments use to describe a "big spender" or some one very important . So either way it would be appropriate. No I am not defending the US millitary, remember the oxymoron "Millitary Intelligence", just pointing out what the speaker may have meant.

Sigh..... I saw that speech and remember the quote.
1) That's nowhere near the words he used. I don't remember the exact wording myself, but he basically said if all the other people they could have caught are fish, this guy is a whale.
2) What the heck is up with calling the guy stupid when you can't even get the quote right? That's like me calling you stupid for saying 'ne1' and 'some1'. Pay more attention to what people say before you comment on them.
In closing, no, it's not an American joke, it's a freakin comparison!
