OVERVIEW

Designed to give every Rotary AC lover a idol to lust after, the Vortex is an excellent choice for the commander who wants a high rate of fire without sacrificing power. The assault mech is designed to chip away at its opponent from long range with its LRM20 until the rest of its firepower is in range. The Artemis system ensures that when the missiles impact their target, the enemy will be the first to know. The two large lasers are meant to be adequate support for the ACs.

You may want to go with a smaller LRM system to allow for some secondary weapons like medium lasers. Which you may need for those units that get in to the minimum of the LRMs...you do have the 2 Lg lasers, but those are both ranged weapons really, where as having the mediums could also allow you keep them for the longer ranges to complement the twin RACs.

I'll try that... on a side note i thought that longer range weapons were just all around better. For example, a Lg laser has a range of 5/10/15 and we all know about the modifiers that accumulate at the different ranges. I always thought that the longer you had your opponent in at least your medium range the better, thus the heavy emphasis on long range weaponry in the Vortex. Correct me if i'm wrong, after all advice without an open mind is wasting your time; and experience is something that should never be wasted.

I keep the LRM number kinda high because i'm trying to keep the heat from getting out of control... right now its sitting at Max heat - 31 and Max heat dissapation - 28 which i think is definitely reasonable. If i can go farther into the heat scale then let me know.. i can keep chipping away at those LRM numbers.. or just get rid of them completely.. strap on some SRMs and Md lasers, dunno really.. just fishing for advice

You have a good point, but the mediums allow you to deal with things like Battlearmor and such and still allow you keep your larger weapons for the ranged combat.
