Overview:
First launched in early 3040, the Prosperity class corvette was the signle most important
ship launched in over 300yrs. Launched at the Kathil shipyards, the Prosperity was not much of a sight to behold. A flying brick is the most accurate description of the Properity class.
At first her classification as a warShip was a stretch, with very few capital scale
weapons. The ship was barely the size of an Star League era corvette. Her speed was barely able to produce enough thrust to make her faster than the average JumpShip. Eeven with all these faults her launching was a wake up call to the Federated Commonwealths enemies.
Deployment:
Since the end of the FCCW the Propserity class has become the primary ship to protect
Federated Suns. Stationed at New Avalon. New Syrtis, New Aragon and Kentares IV the ships captains have deployed the nuclear warheads and are waiting for Word of Blake flotillas to stike.
Refits:
In late 3050's the Prosperity was finding itself outclassed by the Draconis Combine's
launching of several vessels. So Victor Steiner-Davion ordered the ship refitted with the latest weapons and armor. Thirteen new NAC/20s, spread evenly between the ships sides. The Naval Laser armement was upgraded to Thirteen NL 35, nearly triple the first NL layout. The ships armor was replaced by newly developed Lamellor Ferro-Carbide armor nearly doubling the ships protection. Starting with the Swordsheath, all new Propserity class layout was changed to match the refit of the lead ship.
Starting with the First ship of the class the vessels had were refited with transit drives and
KF-Cores that were as efficient as those developed during the starleague, the ships also had a safe thrust rating of 1.5Gs. the Fighter complement was upped to 18 fighters and 12 small craft from the 6 fighters and 4 small craft originally designed. Also two dropship collars were added to the ship for additional support on long missions.

She was ugly. VERY ugly. A massive, poorly-designed chunk of metal, propelled by a fusion drive, moving slowly out of the clutches of the Kathil shipyards, the Prosperity was not much of a sight to behold. Despite this, she was, perhaps, the most important military development since the advent of the Battlemech. She was the first Warship to be produced by any of the Successor States since the First Succession war.
To be sure, classifying her as a WarShip wasn't saying much. She was small, barely the size of an older Star League era corvette. She was slow, barely producing enough thrust to make her faster than the average JumpShip. She was undergunned, with only a few capital-scale weapons to enforce her will upon other ships. With that said, she was now the most powerful space-borne vessel in the Successor States.
