==Overview:==
in 3066, exactly one year after the mysterious dropships carrying the salesmen
and Battlemechs of Uncle
Bob's mech workshop appeared on Outreach. They returned with 106 Lancer mechs
for sale, with 30% off the regular price.

A quick demonstration later saw dozens of models being sold in mere hours and
all 106 mechs were sold out in a day.

Again the sales representatives refused to make any comments about the
mysterious Uncle Bob and his designs. Just like the year before when they
sold the Sherman medium mech.

==Capabilities:==
The Lancer mounts a fearsome battery of lasers with enough heat sinks to use
almost all of them simultaniously.

Like the Sherman, the Lancer is a smooth-handling, but rugged mech, capable of
taking all but the heaviest punishment, and capable of dealing out a lot in
the process.

Fast for a mech its size, it can close quickly with most heavies and
assaults.

Designed as a close range fighter it is handicapped when confronted by mechs
with longer ranged weapons, but most units are providing the Lancer with
bodyguard mechs armed with weapons such as LRM's and Gauss Rifles.

==Battle History:==
Lancers fought in a number of engagements in the closing stages of the Fed Com
Civil war and proved to be quite lethal when used properly.

At one point did a Lancer and a Sagittaire meet. The Sagittaire had the
initial advantage, with higher accuracy, but the Lancer's brutal barrages
quickly melted away the other mech's armour, knocking out the targeting
computer and forcing the pilot to surrender.

==Variants:==
No known variants of the Lancer are known to exist. A reference to a
battlemech bearing the same name being produced during the Star League era has
recently been found in the Comstar archives although nothing is known about
this unit due to is fragmentary nature.

Investigation by Wolfnet agents indicate that the mechs are brand-new and not
Star League relics. The mystery surrounding Uncle Bob's Mech Workshop remains

I like this one mainly because it has the 2750 era feel to it. It doesn't go over board on SL tech and has balanced weapons. Yes it can cover most of it's heat but it's not trying to be the uber mech.
