Tell me this has a grapple...with that name, how could it not?
Sounds like a viable NL-42 alternative, though 4/6 may prevent you from catching up to fleeter ships.

When I used the original (aka on paper with minumal stats) it had a harpoon like device.

Doesn't the standard grapple have an electromagnet on it anyways so a harpoon is redundant?

The harpoon breaks through the ship's hull thus cause other issues and can be used to cripple a cargo ship if the Lampery is being used in priacy role.

Scrap two platoons of infantry for a pulse laser mounted in the cargo bay, sounds strange, but look at it this, way, you hit the ship with a harpoon, thus cleaning out the initial defenders, but if they're elementals or power armor infantry, a pulse laser would clear them out... also would make it viable for landing infantry, they have covering fire as they leave...

You can't do that, can you...

Simple, its mounted on the same side as the cargo bay doors, however you want to mount it, and when you drop the infantry, shoot somebody.

Developed originally by Andurien AeroTech, the Andurien-based aerospace

The discovery of the Star League memeory core started the technical
reaisance of the 3050's leading to the reintroduction of the escort small
craft. Banzi design team was employed in all aspects of developing and testing
new technology with some bizzare designs comcepts researched

==Capabilities:==
The FireHawk was a research project by the Banzi group into the feasibility of
a new technology escort.
What they attempted to do was build a standardised small craft design that
would fill a variety of roles within the FedSuns militaries.
Mounting 32 tons of ferro alumnium armor with 17 Er Medium lasers they
developed an effective mid ranged gunboat that had enought armor to resist
attacks aerospace fighters and the firepower to damage and or cripple even
the heaviest fighter produced in the innersphere.
In atmosphere the straffing capabilities of this design were unbelivable with
13 Er Medium lasers in the forward arc coupled with bombs and its extensive
armor making ground fire much less of a threat.
And still there was space left over for a platoon of infantry which made the
scraft capable of boarding operations agisnt dropships and jumpships. But
given the technical toys aviable to the design team this feature was
eleminated in favor of a Targeting Computer system to increase the accuracy of
the weapon suite.


==Variants:==
the Planned deployment would have made the Targeting computer system removable
as to allow a platoon of marines for boarding action in space and special
operations on the ground.

==Deployment==
The design never reached to prototype stage as military planners deemed the
project too expensive given the funds spent on the project at the time and the
project was shelved in favor of develping omni-fighters.
In retorspect if the design was placed into production it would have been a
easier to manufacture in large numbers as the design used standard fusion
engines and standardised the weapon systems by using the Er medium laser.
