Overview:
The Falcon Strike VTOL is a new design created by Shogo Industries, a relatively new consumer products company that is looking to break into the military market. As such, they hired a new design team and created the Falcon Strike VTOL. It is perhaps among the heaviest armored VTOLs availble, but aerodynamics and helicopter design denied the designers to provide sufficent armor protection to the turbines that are on each side of the craft. It can carry a varied amount of cargoes, which is mainly to say, supplies or infantry. As such, it can carry a jump platoon of infantry, with a tight fit for them, or a regular foot platoon extremely comfortably, since its four ton cargo bay can fit it easily. Offensively, it is extremely powerful for a VTOL, with a pair of Medium Lasers as the primary weapon, which are heat efficent, and deal good damage at 270 meters. To support the Medium Lasers, a pair of Short Range Missile Racks, each with four tubes and fed by half a ton of ammunition, provide exceptional damage at 270 meters as well. Rounding out the armaments, is a 12mmx7mm rotary autogun, with enough ammo for fifty bursts of gun fire. The autogun can mow down infantry much like someone would harvest wheat. The craft is capable of speeds up to 129.6 kph at full throttle, and six tons of armor protect the craft, meaning it can take an AC/20 round to anywhere on the body, and not suffer internal damage.

Deployment:
The Falcon Strike VTOL has been mainly sold to the Draconis Combine Mustered Soldiery, since Shogo Industries is a Kurita based company, and it has been distributed to all jump companies and foot companies. It has also been sold to House Liao, since they are also large infantry users, and Comstar has picked up a lance's worth of VTOLs, which would serve them through the Turkkayid conflict, and the eventual loss of Terra.

Battle History:
The Falcon proved its worth on the Kurita planet of Cylene, during Operation Rat. The planet's nominal mech forces had been stripped away from the planet, to protect other targets of more value. As such, a battlion's worth of Falcons were left with a jump battalion of troops. Predictably, Davion forces landed on the planet, which was vehicle and infantry heavy. The Faclons then launched with the battalion of troops to head them off in a mountainous region. The Davion mechs, one of which included a Rifleman and other anti-aircraft heavy mechs, engaged the infantry battalion. Casulties were somewhat high, due to the autocannons able to take out most of a squad or less in a single salvo, had lost the Rifleman due to the lack of armor, and thats when the Falcons arrived. 36 Falcons squared off against the three mechs, and they were annhiliated at the loss of a lance of falcons, due to turbine destruction, except the Falcons could fly again due to the fact that they were flying low, and their armor held for the most part. The battered battalions then launched to hit the enemy's armor assets, since the mechs were then scattered after having been eaten for lunch by the Falcons. This time however, one of their airfields was knocked out, by the swarming infantry, which a company of jump infantry were launched along with a lance of Falcons. While the Falcons were able to eventually clean out the offending infantry, it had costed them half of the company and another Falcon. Meanwhile, the Falcons out to get the armor assets, had acquired Inferno SRMs, and the jump infantry, having also been trained in Flamers, had dumped their SRMs for the Flamers, and moved out to destroy the armor column. This time, things went badly. out of the 30 Falcons deploying, half of them were shot out of the air, and the Jump Infantry had literally jumped ship seconds after, meaning half of thier heavy support was gone, but the rest of the Falcons then proceeded to engage and destroy the tanks, since the naplam filled missiles were able to set ablaze enemy tanks and destroy them, while the jump flamer infantry, moved in and finished the job.

And now for its Omni younger brother...

Overview:
The Falcon Omni Strike VTOL is a 3057 refit of the original Falcon VTOL. This time, the designers incorporated Omni-technology into the machine, making it a fierce VTOL to contend with. It retains the speed and armor of the Falcon VTOL, except adds a new dynamic to the VTOL catagory of vehicles. As such, it is a new, updated machine that has everything a crew wants, speed, armor, and weaponry. This was built, however to specifically support the Kanazuchi Battle Armor squads of the DCMS, by giving them the space needed to move the armor rapidly, and with the Fusion engine redesigned, and a streamlined, computer assisted pre-flight check list, the machine can deploy a Kanazuchi squad, almost 130 kilometers from where it started, in an impressive one hour, twenty minutes. That includes time for the soldiers to get suited, the Falcon prepped for lift-off, and deployment. This is assisted by a new system invented by Shogo Industries that connects each Kanazuchi to the Falcon through mated points on the armor and the Falcon. This allows the Falcon to recharge the Kanazuchis enroute, and a revolutionary rack deployment system allows the Falcon to deploy the squad within seconds, a hatches in the bottom of the craft would open, and a rack would descend, carrying the Kanazuchi armor, and release it. The racks would then snap back into the Falcon, the hatches sealed, and the Falcon to be on its way. This system makes it invaluble, since a VTOL should never be on the ground or immobile in general. In addition, the cargo space can be filled with weapons and equipment as well, making it a versatile VTOL, as it can fit all but the largest and heaviest weapons availble.

Deployment:
The Falcon Omni Strike VTOL is replacing all units that already have the Falcon Strike VTOL, but this is a pain-staking process, as the new VTOLs, while easy to repair and maintain, especially considering the fact that they are Omni-vehicles, are hard to produce.

Battle History:
There have been no new fights involving the Falcon Omni-VTOL to date.
