The Quikscell BMP is a close companion to the T-90. The BMP is designed as an infantry fighting vehicle though, honestly, its light firepower should keep it away from the front lines. With intelligent combined arms tactics, the BMP supplies infantry that complement the gauss rifle-armed T-90s. Most buyers of the BMP and T-90 wouldn't recognize an intelligent tactic even if they were killed by one, but this hasn't harmed sales of the BMP. Petty warlords and dictators often find it pleasing to ship their armed thugs into hostile areas in invulnerable (to most angry peasants) armored comfort.

The BMP is not an inspired design and calling it an IFV almost does the term injustice. It delivers a squad of infantry into battle, has an MG for close support, and an MRM 10 to dish out some additional pain. The armor is adequate to stop a single hit from medium to heavy weapons.

To keep costs down, the BMP shares many components with the T-90 or Scorpion (depending on the buyer's preferences.) After 15 years of production, word is getting around that the Scorpion-related model (with the SitiCide 100 engine and hydraulics) is a death trap: it "brews up" easily and fills the infantry compartment with flaming fuel and hydraulic fluid easily. The water-cooled SitiCide 100 Wankel engine is also vulnerable to loss of oil or radiator damage, leaving BMPs with those engines stranded relatively easily. The BMP that incorporates T-90 components uses pneumatics and the air-cooled, fuel-lubricated GM 100 ICE, a 10 cylinder version of the GM 120 used in the T-90. The engine is much more rugged than the SitiCide. The lack of flammable hydraulic fluid also improves crew and passenger safety.

COMBAT HISTORY
Like the T-90, the BMP has an unexciting history. Its probably seen more combat than many front line high tech Wundertank designs due to its numbers and its users, but brutally oppressing starving peasants or desperately trying to fend off pirate raids aren't much to write home about.

4.5 tons armor
....Front: 20
....Sides: 16

1 ton MRM ammo (body)

VARIANTS
Quikscell makes a wheeled model that is faster but otherwise identical to the tracked BMP. Many customers alter the weaponry to suit their tastes - everything from LRMs to SRMs to lasers have been seen on BMPs. Like the T-90, the slab-sided BMP has its armor bolted on to reduce fabrication costs, but this also speeds repair and facilitates armor experimentation. Combatants facing BMPs should expect to encounter ferro-fibrous armored BMPs in the Inner Sphere and thicker or thinner armored models anywhere, often varying inversely with the weight of weapon variations.

It just doesn't seem like a BMP without *some* kind of Main Gun...
Although I guess you could consider the MG one...
Replacing the MRM with 8 RL-10s would be interesting... 1/3 the endurance, but a chance to dump it all at once.
And...perhaps you may want to add Infantry to the equipment list?

Like the T90, had a guy use these in a game a while back...it was fun.

Have you done anything new with these?

I've done some with the setting. Look up the Monadock MBT on CBT.com or Heavymetalpro.com.
