How the hell can a Quad Panzer have four Large Pulse Lasers? To fit that kind of firepower I had to use a fafnir with only six tons of armour and something like 40 heatsinks. From what I can find out, a Quad Panzer is about 65 tons all in. Can anyone shed any light on this?

Mechwarrior 4 never followed the rules for 'mech designing at it's basics. The Quad Panzer is possible, but it would probably weigh in at around 100 tons and function like the Di Morgan.

You could almost manage it on a 75-ton Clan 'Mech. However, I think Prince of Darkness hit the nail on the head: it's a video game mech with poor relation to actual boardgame construction rules.

I seem to remember rules for that somewhere.... it can be done..... hard to do and dies to quick but can be done....

only 48 tons for weaps and DHS.... 10 less if it uses a fusion engine.... easy to fit on a 65t tank frame.... still kind of squishy when you hit it back tho.

You have to remember that vehicles are different to mechs.... less involved

Actually, the Quad Panzer works out okay. With 19 DHS, an XL, and 4 Clan LPLs and a quad chassis, it's tight but feasible and only has a minor heat issue.

I wouldn't build it on a quad chassis personally because of the limited firing arcs and cramped internal space, but it's not awful.

OHHHH. So did anyone guess I didn't play MW4?

65-ton vehicle...yeah, that's a wee bit more difficult.
