Who makes settings for forums like theese?

Anyway...

Mechforce is an ancient game for the antique Commodore Amiga computer that you can play on your PC through an emulator program.

It is basically a simulation of the Battletech boardgame to the computer.

Can't play online....or perhaps there is a way?

Anyway #2....

Does anyone else play it?

People who have to remove a half-dozen posts for talking about Viagra and anal sex every day. Spambots are smart enough to create forum accounts, bypass word-recognition filters, post their spam, then abandon the account. A simple fix is to block new users (with fewer than a certain number of posts) from posting links.

If you want easier forum settings, get rid of the spammers.

Aman brother!
Why argue if the glass is half full or half empty, when you know someone is going to knock it over and spill it anyways.

I was a Major *pain* before
But I got a promotion.
I am now a General *pain*

MechForce by Ralph H. Reed, right? I played the heck out of that in the early '90s! I've got an old printout of his 1989 instructions/documentation, and I still use MechForce-style critical hit tables when I write up my own 'Mechs. Very happy back when I found the game hosted here on Sarna.

Yeah...thats the one skiltao ,

I played it some this weekend. Oh the joy hehe...

Just can't get sound ... also my mech/warrior is sometimes not avaliable so the battle is aborted before it even starts...happends about 20% of the time....

Any ideas?

I think one of the pull-down menus has a control for sound; if that doesn't help, I imagine you'll have to mess with the emulator settings, which I know nothing about.

There's a couple reasons a MechWarrior wouldn't be available for battle- if he dies (obviously); if the 'Mech is destroyed (unless you have enough cash to buy him another 'Mech); I always had some problem with pilots I'd sent out on patrols/missions, but I don't remember what that issue was; if you quit out of the program without ending the battle first, the program assumes they're still tied up (don't know if that's true of all versions of the program); and if your mech/warrior was *captured* in the last battle and you either refused or didn't have enough money to pay ransom, the game will abort the battle. (There could also be some problem with the file path being wrong, but that seems unlikely to me.)

Any of those sound right?

I used to love Mechforce and actually rolled the guild money a few times before in a move my Amiga was destroyed. I have recently discovered AmigaForever and installed it on my PC. It looks like is works good so I am trying to rebuild my game library of the games I most loved.

I am looking for a copy with Key. I will gladly pay full price for it. I have no idea how to contact Ralph Reed any more.

I would prefer the version that came out around 1990. I know enhancements were made after but I would most like the version I bought from Reed back when he was still working on it and selling them. I would definitely prefer if the disk were an .adf file as opposed to an actual Amiga disk as I do not have an A500 anymore.
