So what did you change? Mechs made under the older rule sets are still able to be used in play.

This is from the magazine, TechForce, not an older rules set. I added a Light Fusion Engine and Composite Structure in place of the standard components which made it overweight.

DANG that is dangerous, i'm surprised all that fits, and with 19 tons of armor and 32 points of heat dissipation. I put that spec into SSW, the only thing that didn't work was the RA medium laser, there isn't room because the AC20 takes up all arm crits, so it has to go elsewhere.
(If you drop the CASE or put an SRM rack in a leg you can re-site the left arm DHS so you can fully articulate the left arm. Since CASE doesn't do anything for IS XL engine mechs, may as well get the extra .5 ton of armor and use that liberated crit.) My SSW result below:

PS: the mod by l0rDn0o8sKiLlZ, that of composite structure and Light engine instead of XL, is interesting. I mean you trade double internal structure damage for the fact that you can lose a side torso and not be disabled.
I wonder which strategy actually lasts longer on the battlefield, might be interesting to run a bunch of fights to see which averages out better.

It depends, if you want to follow the stats then part of the AC20 is in the torso, if you want the AC20 in the arm then move the Medium laser in the right to the right torso.
And CASE means you have something to salvage later verse a blown up mech.

As most don't deal with it, CASE does prevent the pilots death as well. But then if this wasn't a game, the small cockpit would not be used so often.
Not sure if swapping the srms for lrms would be a good thing or not. 3 ppcs are good long range fire, so questionable for lrms. Except for heat build up, I am a bit shocked none of the mls are er versions. Or maybe pulse for better hits.

I hadn't noticed the XL Engine in the original Sledgehammer specs in The Tech Factory. Duly noted, but I still like my redesign.
