(In the HBS game, this variant has three fewer heat sinks, but has a "Heat Bank" and an "Exchanger" instead.) Otherwise this design is a faithful re-creation of my most frequently used Highlander variant.
I realize the major problems this design would have in TT, however it is a fun experiment to put my HBS Battletech designs into SSW and see how silly they would usually be for a TT game.

Nice...another hey it works in the video game, so that must mean it works in the board game mech...

Interesting. I've made some missile boats out of Highlanders, Stalkers, and King Crabs in HBS's "BattleTech." They tend to run out of crits and tonnage before I can get in 4 LRM 20s, though I've managed a triple LRM 15.
I gradually gave up intensive missile boats when I got a full roster of King Crabs, Atlases, and highly skilled MechWarriors. It's just too effective to apply twin AC/20s and "called shot" to a target to wait for missiles to grind them down. Typically, I'd send 2-3 King Crabs (4 flamers, 2 AC/20s) and 1-2 Atlases (AC/20, 2 medium lasers, 2 LRM 15s) on missions.
The video games do prompt different design approaches than the board game. You couldn't depend on hyper-accurate AC/20s in the board game, while LRM boats really benefit from secondary weapons in the way video game 'Mechs don't.
