Could two Omega Battlemechs take on a company of medium and light mechs?

Depends on the company's composition, and the terrain. My typical 3025-era company could take a pair of _Omega_s, and not take much damage in return, as most of mine would be jump-capable, high-mobility jobs; all those 10+ to-hits would run them out of ammo in short order, while I slowly peck them to death. They might have a chance in heavy Forest or other terrain where long-range shots aren't an option, but the penalties against something Jumping 6-8 hexes every turn are still painful. And if I have access to SL tech, I can "pogo" all day long, and have even more non-ammo-based firepower at my disposal....

...and even in forest or urban terrain I reckon a company of WSP-1W could kick and sandblast them to death.

Unsupported units slower than 4/6 are just victims for swarming tactics.
(Mercer Ravannion was totally right, at least by classic boardgame rules. And an Atlas can't take on a company - much less a battalion - of Stingers.)

Two? I'd lean toward the Omegas, but...

I've found super heavy BattleMechs to be very vulnerable to head hits and falls. A light/medium company that piles up the crit finding weapons (SRM and LBX spam) or keeps damage-per-turn over 20 points has a chance of winning.

I've been bitterly disappointed time and again when I've taken my ULTIMATE SUPERHEAVY 'MECHS (designation unprintable with Sarna's Censortron) against an equal BV of lighter units and died. Ingloriously. Slipping, falling, being knocked out...

But two Omegas? That gives some tactical options like covering each other's blind spots.

Heh -- the opening quote for my history of "why the Clans' invasion failed miserably" leads with this:

"My cousin had the right idea -- he just used the wrong unit type."
