--- I've been designing warships again, and touched up my old ones a bit, this version of the Athens is less all over the place and a bit saner overall. The Athens is a "Fast Battleship". She lacks any ASF or Small Craft to call her own, but does have a single docking collar to take along a DropShip. Her Anti-Fighter weaponry is somewhat lacking, although she does sport a total of twelve NL35s which isn't nothing when used in Anti-Fighter mode. The Whiteshark launchers are good for threatening DropShips, while the NACs and NPPCs make short work of capital ships.
--- She's fast, hits relatively hard and can take a fair amount of punishment to boot. The range and endurance of the vessel aren't lacking either, with 6,000 Tons of Fuel, 850 Tons of Food and Water all topped off by a 15,000 Ton spare part allotment and a pair of cargo bays grossing 7,500 Tons and 480 Tons respectively. Three squads of Marines backed up by three squads of Battle Armor Marines provide some protection against boarding actions while a 1st Class Passenger Compartment affords a ranking officer such as an Admiral or a Commodore a place to stay.

--- The final iteration of this ship, only a few tweaks here and there, nothing major. Still a fast Battleship, still has fast Battleship problems. Better range on this one now though, which is good. Less fuel, but with expanded cargo and almost twice as many stores of food & water this ship can go a whole lot farther than the prior iteration. Two big grav decks make extended trips much more bearable than either of this class's two predecessors.
