--- After Maurer's reply to my Heavyback I realized when replying back to them that I had never posted my Hobart, which was inspired by Hobart's Funnies from the Second World War. I built this 'Mech a long while ago, and it is made for the niche application of bringing Arrow IVs to bear with great speed. A TAG lets it use it's Arrow IVs for direct fire w/o a spotter, while an ER Medium Laser gives it something to defend itself with in the event it runs out of ammo. A 5/8/4 movement profile and 8 tons of Ferro-Fibrous Armor let it move around quite well for a 55 Tonner as well as absorb a decent amount of punishment for it's weight class.
--- With a price tag of just under 7 million C-Bills, the Hobart isn't cheap, but it isn't exactly breaking the bank either. A Composite Chassis is both lighter and cheaper than a Standard Chassis, but is also much frailer. A Compact Gyro frees up room in the CT for both the TAG and three of the Arrow IV's criticals, which are split between the CT and the RT. A Standard Fusion Engine means the Hobart's internals aren't too iresome to replace, with only the Compact Gyro being truly exotic, while the Composite Chassis can be somewhat more easily manufactured compared to Endo-Steel.
--- At the end of the day, the Hobart is a niche 'Mech. It brings Arrow IVs into and over rugged terrain and gets them to the battle in a hurry. Two tons of ammo gives it decent enough endurance for it's role and while the price tag sits just south of an Awesome, the Hobart has the ability to get to the battle quickly and bombard it from afar. It isn't for everyone and certainly isn't the best for every application, but the Hobart can be an worthwhile investment for any force looking to field an artillery piece capable of rapid response, deployment and re-deployment regardless of terrain while having the kit and capability to look after itself to an extent.
