June 3049 – Embarkation from Clan Space to the Inner Sphere
December 3049 – January 3050 – Conquest of backwater Periphery worlds
the following were beginning to be established ....
- Where Establishment of Logistics Facilities and logistics routes from Logistics Stations to Transfer Stations then into the Deep Periphery;
- Establishment of Advance Sibko Training Facilities (Reinforcements);
- Establishment of Advance ammunition production facilities;
- Establishment of Space Stations and Dry Docks for Jump-ship and Warship Maintenance;
- Establishment of Agricultural facilities – Herbivore Animal Farms and hydroponics facilities;
- Establishment of BattleMech / Elemental / Fighter advance Salvage Depos.;
IS – Pirate Activity – Noted increase in activity, as multiple ships arrive within border worlds with tales of an invasion of the Deep Periphery by an unknown and technologically superior armies – rumours are noted – uncorroborated reports sent to respective Great House Military Intelligence – and ignored.
20 March 3050 First Wave
<Clan Vulnerability: the defenders never had the good grace to stop resisting their Clan Overlords once battle concluded – IS non-warrior castes required hash penalties to keep them in line – executions were required to shock them from the notion they could utilize partisan activities>
May 7, 3050 – Turtle Bay – Clan Smoke Jaguar warship Sabre Cat launches an orbital bombardment upon the City of Edo, when at the behest of the local yakuza, Hohiro Kurita escapes Pain Mountain and the world of Turtle Bay.
May 3050 Second Wave
Resistance to this wave was fiercer than the first.
<Clan Vulnerability: Serious issues in the initial plan: Increasingly large numbers of units were held back in order to quell uprisings and a new convoy system is required to start bringing in badly-needed supplies>
IS - Operation S.O.E. and Shinsengumi Commences – IS F-C and DC Commando forces are either transported to clan held worlds or remain behind after a world is conquered by the Clans with the purpose to conduct espionage, sabotage, extracting captured clan personnel and reconnaissance in occupied Clan Territory (Nt: every group is equipped with a ‘Black Box’ transmitter).
July 3050 Third Wave
Resistance Increasing – Multiple units begin appearing upon targeted worlds – increasing number of POAs are becoming more lethal as more vehicle, VTOL and Conventional Fighter / Bomber units are being utilized as well as the use of more inventive means of restricting weapon range and speed – the increased use of artillery and bombing runs is causing problems – Infantry begin utilizing more High powered weapon systems / traps against elementals begin to become commonplace.
<Clan Vulnerability – their ability to resupply units in the field is severely strained and an outbreak or rebellions on previously conquered worlds requires more forces to be held back for garrison duty) previously conquered worlds are requiring even more – morale within the Clans is lowering as a sense of momentum is being lost.>
IS – July 7, 3050 Operation Kamikaze – DC launches an attack upon Clan Smoke Jaguar’s Warship Sabre Cat – A ‘Big Wing’ fighter strike launched from Vengeance Drop-ship and armed with Nuclear Warheads destroys the Jaguar Warship.
<Clan Vulnerability: Warship and Merchantman Convoy fighter protection increases due to possibility of nuclear attacks within the DC sector - resulting in a decrease in fighters assigned to their front lines.>
September 3050 Fourth Wave
The Fourth Wave was one of momentous change for the invading Clans and the Inner Sphere.
IS forces transported to the new front lines have increased the operational difficult of Clan forces attempting to capture worlds as it is noted that worlds who were once defended by one RCT are now being defended by three such RCTs.
Clan Loss Depletion Reports begin to indicate a starting trend analysis as to the number of Clan Warriors Killed or presumed captured as to the number of replacement personnel being received from their Periphery Forward Sibko Facilities.
<Clan – Zoetermeer - Clan Jade Falcon’s Nightlord Class Battleship, Emerald Talon, demanded the surrender of the planet’s defenders consisting of the 10th Donegal Guards and Alpha Battalion of the 12th Star Guards or face planetary bombardment. However, unknown to the Talon’s Commander, due to the Turtle Bay incident a decision was made to allow tactical command of nuclear weapons to unit commanders (In the event a Warship incident arises within the F-C). The 10th, however, dispatched its two wings prior to the warship’s proximity to the planet – the Clans dispatched their 20 fighters – a dogfight ensured, however unnoticed by all a lance of IS fighters broke through and fired a missile spread of four nuclear warheads which resulted in the Emerald Talon’s destruction. The remaining Clan fighters fought to the last, rather than surrendering inflicting heavy damage upon the 10th’s fighter wings.>
<Clan Vulnerability: Warship and Merchantman Convoy fighter protection is required to increase due to possibility of nuclear attacks within the F-C sector also – thus the fighter numbers assigned to their front lines also decreases.>
IS – September 3050 - Second Battle of Twycross – 10th Lyran Guards, 9th FedCom RCT and two battalions of Kell Hounds Vs. Jade Falcon Guards and elements of the Jade Falcon Eyrie - Clan forces were lured into the Gash where Kai Allard-Liao detonated pre-planted explosives in the walls of the Gash, resulting in the Jade Falcon Guards' destruction through being buried under tons of rock and rubble. Jade Falcon Erie forces were forces into a fighting withdrawal prior the survivors being forced to retreat off-world.
IS – October 3050 – Wolcott – Clan Smoke Jaguar’s Mistweaver Galaxy Vs. Genyosha Regiments – Where the Genyosha Regiments, under the command of Hohiro Kurita, laid a trap for the Jaguars thanks to their battle skills as well as the terrain advantage of the planet’s wooded marshes which resulted in the Mistweaver’s defeat.
<IS Nt: Twycross and Wolcott – acquired ‘Mechs and battle armor resulted in the F-C and DC being able to reverse-engineer the technology and produce advance designs of their own.>
Mid October 3050 - With two losses - Twycross and Wolcott – and the nuclear attacks upon two warships - Sabre Cat and Emerald Talon – ilKhan Showers calls for a halt to the invasion as all Khans and saKhans (Invading and Reserve Clans) are required to attend a Grand Kurultai (war council) to consider their response to the IS’s use of Nuclear Ordinance.
October 31 3050 - Radstadt – Tyra Miraborg and the her Flying Drakons were escorting the Jumpship Norseman and its escorts (containing their Prince) when they happened to jump in right next to an entire Clan battlefleet. The Flying Drakøns immediately deployed, to buy their Prince time to escape, making several runs on the Dire Wolf without opposition. The tables began to turn, however, as Clan fighters were finally deployed and began to push back the Drakøns. It was at this point that the Norseman managed to successfully jump. Tthe Drakøns made one final attack, Tyra’s fighter was badly damaged in this final push, instead of turning back she piloted her stricken shilone on a collision course with the Dire Wolf. Slamming it into the weakest part of the massive WarShip: the bridge. The collision breached the bridge, killing many crew members and ilKhan Leo Showers, and almost killed the Clan Wolf Khan Ulric Kerensky. – The death of ilKhan Showers puts a stop to the entire invasion ... just prior to the start of the Fifth Wave.
Pertinent points during the “Year of Preparation” ....
November 3050 - Upon receiving multiple intelligence reports within the Clan Occupation Zone IS forces began what would become to be known as the “Year of Preparation” ... for when the Clans invasion would recommence ... at an unknown date in the future ...
During this period
Rotation of Front line forces for rest and refitting – These units are to form the new spear head with regards to anti-clan military forces - weapons systems within these units are modified with new weapons packages – new vehicle and infantry units are assigned – together with new training programs designed to install anti-clan tactics are implemented.

The Rigil Kentares Conference – Starting Early December 3050
For the first time since the Amaris Civil War all IS House Lords come together due to the severity of the situation to discuss the ramifications of the Clan Invasion. (ComStar together with Wolf’s Dragoons are ‘requested’ to attend).
Wolf Dragoons Meeting – Early December 3050
During this meeting the Dragoon’s Commanding officer, Jamie Wolf, informed them that because of the Battle at Radstadt, and the death of the ilKhan, the IS had approximately one year to unite their forces against this threat to all of the IS. He went on to explain how the Dragoons were a force sent to scout the Inner Sphere for the eventual invasion by the Clans as well as the Clan’s origins as the descendents of the Star League Defense Force as well as their intention to remain within the IS, rather than returning to the Clans. Detailed explanations as to Clan Society and Military were provided outlining in particular their warrior traditions.
In response to this information the House Lords were unanimous in their verdict – Jamie Wolf and the Dragoons will act as the OpFor unit in re-training the IS’s elite units in anti-Clan tactics. The Dragoons will then be required to take their place upon the front lines, as if they wished to remain they must prove their intentions in blood.
ComStar Trial – 13 December 3050
When Primus Myndo Waterly, together with Anastasius Focht, were requested to attend a strategy meeting they suddenly found themselves justifying ComStar’s actions within the Clan Invasion Corridor as detailed reports and witnesses were brought before the meeting outlining ComStar’s perfidy.
Rather than explaining her position Waterly flew into a rage at the House Lords – thus she initiated Operation Scorpion whilst returning via JumpShip to Terra – an attempt to put the entire IS, including Clan occupied territory under ComStar Control.
Precentor Martial Focht, travelled to Terra as soon as possible and confronted Primas Waterly at the Hilton Head facility’s Hall of History on 6 January, with only Sharliar in attendance. History will never record the truth, as Precentor Martial Focht shot Primas Waterly in the back of head.
ComStar was thereafter reformed by Sharliar and Focht. – And the ComGuard were shortly thereafter assigned to the SLDF.
The Star League Reborn – Mid January 3051
The Rigil Kentares Conference most celebrated achievement was the reformation of the Star League and the Star League Defence Force (Though it would take another 10 months for the lawyers to come to a final draft of the new Star League Constitution and accountability standards). The SLDF, however, took no time in establishing their exit strategy, “The removal of the Clan threat from every world, and the Inner Sphere permanently!”.

December 3050 - Operation S.O.E. and Shinsengumi
IS F-C and DC Commando forces begin to intensify their actions upon Clan held worlds - espionage, sabotage, extracting captured clan personnel and reconnaissance in occupied Clan Territory – intensiy causing many of the Garrisons to undertake operations against their hidden tormentors.

Early December 3050 - Operation Fenrir / Kami
Both the F-C and the DC came to the same conclusion around the same time.
The establishment of a covert reconnaissance task force who’s mission’s objectives within the Core-ward Area of the Deep Periphery, included locating Clan forward re-supply depos., Jump-ship supply ships and routes. They were then tasked with deploying all necessary forces to capture or destroy these facilities with their assigned special forces. (Nt. In the event a Warship was discovered, Commanders were given the discretionary powers to open their nuclear arsenal.)
<Clan January 3051 – PGC Convoy, Designated Falcon 039, mysteriously failed to arrive within the IS by its due arrival date. (Nt. This was the First run on the board for the Fenrir Forces) >

Operation Kesselring
Upon proposed Clan invasion worlds tens of thousands of individuals assisted in creating well-fortified positions for casemates, hidden defensive positions, anti-elemental and ‘Mech traps, bunkers for infantry, vehicles, VTOL craft, ‘Mechs and fighters , observation posts, hidden gun emplacements, and artillery fighting positions upon these worlds.
They were designed to repel any attempt to breach these “Gothic” lines by the Clans, however if breached they also allowed IS forces to retire in good order to the next strategic line with the aim of bleeding the Clans in a new Attrition Strategy due to their inherent Sibko flaw (Information provided by Dragoons). Until such a time their position became untenable and they are forced to retire.
In addition the forces assigned to these positions included the elite IS units, each unit was also authorised to assign the Cameron Star next to their Unit insignia.

Operation Rorschach
The first of two Psy-Ops missions, Rorschach’s mission was to destabilize the Clans Caste system where ever possible. To provide a means where non-warrior caste members can readily defect from their Totalitarian Clan System to the Free SLDF facility and then to assist them with their transition by finding them a position where their skills can be best be put to use.

Operation Archivist
The second Psy-Ops mission. Upon learning that the majority of the Clans non-warrior caste members education was either none at all or an extremely distorted view as to what the Star League values were a Psy-Ops team within the DC came to decision to provide these members with incontrovertible proof that they had been lied to by their Warrior overlords (in the hope of initiating an internal Civil War within the Clans). To this end all SL archivists throughout the IS were asked to provide copies of any documents or videos from that era for analysis to either their F-C or DC contact.
During this extensive search it was found that there may be Department (of education) Prometheus Inc. libraries within the lost Terran Hegemony worlds, (A government-owned subsidy responsible for publishing books and managing almost a thousand libraries across the Star League. Putting out material designed to promote peace and understanding, Prometheus Inc. also ran a massive information database, accessible by anyone within their libraries or through a personal computer).
The decision was made to send a small task force throughout these lost worlds with the hope of retrieving any information that could be used.

Total War Production
Due to the Clans vastly superior technology the IS’s new SL required a new ordinance to fight them. To this end the decision was made increase production, research and development and reverse engineering / acquiring clan engineers or scientists and any available Clan information to improve IS technology.
It also required many industries and individuals to make sacrifices in their lives and other resources to obtain victory.
To this end a mobilization of manpower and resources for war with the Clans was initiated upon many key industrial worlds – and the transfer of manpower from worlds who’s unemployment levels allowed for the transfer – together with the introduction of the draft – allowed for an expansion of many key industries as well as the establishment of many new RCTs.
To this end a “limited” total war production plan was implemented so as to not damage the economy of any of the Great Houses unduly.

Operation Guardian
With the introduction of Elementals to the battlefield IS arms manufactures were tasked with designing an infantry support weapon, providing extreme range and penetration capabilities that even an Elemental’s armour could not protect them.
To this end a new projectile rifle with armour penetrating rounds was created as a portable anti-Battle Armor weapon for infantry.
Mass production began almost immediately in March 3051.

December 3051 Fifth Wave
With the return of each Clan’s Khan and sa-Khan they found not only were some of their invasion corridor worlds were in a state of disarray, some of their periphery assets were no longer operational and even some of their Convoys were lost to the void or captured by a new enemy raider force operating within the periphery / deep periphery.
Upon commencement of their fifth wave the Clans Mongol philosophy of war came to a screeching halt and for the most part stalled altogether as they found their usual tactics impossible to execute without incurring high losses (even the Dropship ‘mech and elemental insertions were becoming ineffective). Rather than decreasing their bids Clans were now forced to assign whole Galaxies to individual worlds (and even then they suffered horrendous casualties).
As the Loss Depletion Rate steadily rose so that replacement personnel were not enough to replace the growing number of dead warriors Clan units began to me merged together to maintain operational efficiency of individual Galaxies, coupled with increasing logistical constraints many Clans found themselves on the precipitous as battles began to extend month after month with no victor in sight.

<Clan – within the fifth wave the new ilkhan will activate the two reserve Clan Units – however rather than utilizing these Clans on the front Lines Clan Smoke Jaguar and Jade Falcon initiate harvesting trials in an effort to restore their numbers – rather than fighting on the front lines Steel Viper and Nova Cat attempted to take worlds from the Jaguars and Falcons>

August 3052 – Retaliation Wave 1
With the increasing damage to each individual Clans IS Touman the decision was made to retaliate.

Nt. From here on the Clans will be forced to retreat to previous wave worlds and then into the Deep Periphery or returning to the Clan’s Home Worlds. (two to three years of fighting)

Nt. During these three years Nova Cats and Bears will defect to the SL – Bears and Cats will work together to bring their entire populations to the IS.

End of The First Clan Invasion

At this stage the Clans must recognise their faults and take steps to rectify them – However the Home Clans will not tolerate what the IS Clans are requesting ....

A Sibko system is ineffective when compared to the number of dead the IS forces can inflict upon them – it was satisfactory when fighting was within the Clan Home Worlds but is incapable of producing the numbers required to operate within the IS more graduates are required;
– new Mechs / Elementals / fighters are required when fighting within the IS;
– Garrisons and Administrative practices were ineffectual within the IS – worse yet forcing the Clan Caste system and their society upon the IS civilians just caused more problems than could be effectively rectified;
– Introduction of advanced anti-elemental infantry rifle almost destroyed the number of elementals within the IS;
– Extremely long logistical chains when cut, with the introduction of Deep Periphery Forces, became a major reason for their failure;

<Clan – Vulnerability – Operation Fenrir / Kami forces as well as Operation S.O.E. and Shinsengumi forces were able to provide Clan Non-warrior caste members as well as Clan Diamond Shark merchants with psy-ops documents regarding the true values of the SL – currently being distributed throughout Clan Space Free-born communities.>

<Clan – Vulnerability – Rather than a war of reaving there need to be a war of reformation within the Clans so as to establish a second Invasion and fulfill Kerensky’s dream.>

IS - September 3050 - Camelot Command Rediscovered – First Somerset Strikers
October 3050 - Camelot Command was subsequently refurbished by the Federated Commonwealth and used as a base for forward operations against the Clans.

Clan / IS – March 3051 – (Operation Rorschach) F-S S.O.E. Psy-Ops operative “Dizzy” DeHavilland was able to convince a Trinary of the Clan Jade Falcon’s 22nd PGC to defect to the IS, becoming a mercenary unit, designated Gladiator.

IS - May 3051 – Former Clan PGC unit now F-C Mercenary unit takes up their post on Camelot Command - assisting Clan Defections to the IS - training IS SOE agents as to Clan mannerisms.

IS - September 3051 - Camelot Command Rediscovered – Snord’s Irregulars: Operation Merlin – Arrived only to find the base fully operational by F-C S.O.E forces, who are engaged in special operations behind the lines within the Clan Invasion Corridors.

In the narrow window of time between the return of the Clan’s Khans from Clan Space (Year of Preparation) and the resumption of the 5th Wave.

Operation Torch – Commenced November 3051

Phase 1:
SOE operations along, and around the Periphery border are to intensify.

Phase 2:
Dependent upon the element of surprise and swiftness with which the new SLDF could build up multiple ready reaction forces and move them via Jumpships via non standard jump points to be within the interior of the Invasion Corridor. These forces primary aim is to disrupt any buildup of Clan forces through raiding any ground based logistical sites.

With the Clans lack of appreciation as to the concept of raiding Command believed that the Operation had merit when coupled with Operation Kesselring. Thus keeping the Clans busy with chasing illusive forces throughout their realm, whilst, they are simultaneously attempting to initiate the 5th Wave of their assault into the IS.

Multiple new small Raider Combat Teams would be established for this operation.

As a result of assigning new Black Boxes technology to each unit any damaged fighting unit will be able to withdraw to a prearranged rendezvous point and rejoin another Raider Combat Troop or make a fighting withdrawal back to the prepared defensive lines.

Inner Sphere Task Forces

Ever since May 7, 3050 - Turtle Bay – and its subsequent retaliation of July 7 where the DCMS launched a series of Kamikaze strikes upon Clan Smoke Jaguars’ Warships. House units became increasing concerned as to the Clans naval superiority and their retaliation as the DCMS stepped up its attacks within their area of space.

Then in September 3050 the F-C worst fears came about when Clan Jade Falcon’s Nightlord Class Battleship, Emerald Talon, demanded the surrender of the planet’s defenders consisting of the 10th Donegal Guards and Alpha Battalion of the 12th Star Guards or face planetary bombardment of Zoetermeer. However, contingencies were already in place which resulted in the destruction of Clans warship as it was enveloped in a nuclear oblivion.

Since then multiple IS Task Forces have been assigned to engaging and defeating Clan Warships.

At the same time the Home-front had been busy –

• Large aerospace fighter Drop-ships;
• New high velocity aerospace bombers; and
• Pocket War-ships.

…. where being produced in high numbers throughout the IS and in high numbers.

<However, if you want to remove nuclear warheads from the game – revision writing required to allow each House to begin production once more, around 3040, thus by 3050 - at the time of the Clan Invasion – House fleets are at least at 75% (DC and FWL) to 100% (F-C) the numbers as that of single Clans number of warships. Thus allowing for fleet battles and the absence of nuclear weapons. In my opinion this revisionist writing is probably the best bet.>.

The Changing Face of IS Forces

TRO 3058 we begin to see the first real IS Omni designs.

• However for me the production of these weapons is occurring at an incredibly slow pace. What I would like to see is that by mid to late 3052 these machines begin to filter into the front line – elite units of the new SLDF.

• What I would also like to see is more F-C Omni designs – the lack of F-C designs within the 3058 book has never sat well with me considering the F-C has NAIS College of Military Science as well as Dr Banzai and his Team. Both the F-C and the DC would have had access to Omni Mechs off that battlefield as well as those their special services units could acquire (including their Techs.). So the belief the DC would have a jump upon the F-C to me has always been a sticking point.

One such design could be Bushwacker – a conversion into a Omni for example.

What I would also like to see is the Grey Death Power Armor becoming standard for all SLDF military personnel.

So the more elite units from this point on will begin to phase out their single weapon system mechs in favor for the Omni design – a point that will remain from now on with all IS military.

Second Tier Units will be provided with advanced single weapon design mechs and so on and so forth ….

As for the only House that has not engaged the Clans (The FWL) (note: The CC have been absorbed into the F-C) – their access to battlefield technology has been limited to those mercenary units who have been able to smuggle what-ever they could back to the FWL.

However, with the Ratification of the New Star League (in principle) in January of 3051 (formerly ratified in November 3051) both the F-C and the DC will be assisting the FWL with advanced technology and their Omni-tech development. As such it could take the FWL up to an additional year before they begin manufacturing Omni designs.

With the introduction of the Clans the entire premise of the story from that of their 3025 civilization to a more technologically advanced civilization is required.
