- The Vulture-Class Strike Carrier is designed to be a mobile fire support carrier capable of striking down crippled foes and running down those who flee. The vessel is not intended for independent operations, but rather it requires the support of other ships to offset it's shortcomings. However, the Vulture-Class does exhibit good staying power while it's two Docking Collars not only allow it to contribute some DropShip capacity to the Task Group, but also enable it to provide a modest escort for itself.
- The "strike" part of the Vulture-Class Strike Carrier comes from the vessels rather hefty compliment of capital missile launchers. Twelve Whiteshark Launchers and twenty four Barracuda Launchers give the Vulture-Class a relatively good capital throw weight. A large array of LRM 20s and SRM 4s let the Vulture-Class excel at chasing down DropShips with the considerable 4 Gs of acceleration provided by it's engines. The "carrier" part is handled by the Vulture-Class' two Flight Decks, each capable of housing a full wing of AeroSpace Fighters.
- Provision is made in 1st and 2nd Class Passenger berths for a ranking officer as well as a CAG officer. The Vulture-Class is notable for the arrangement of her weapons, with all of her weapons facing to the fore, but capable of firing at an offset. A large cargo provision comes in the form of two 3,000 Ton Cargo Bays, one behind each flight deck, and a 6,000 Ton Cargo Bay located internally and above those that is accessed via a massive 1,000 Ton Cargo Lift inside of the ship. The Vulture-Class carries a very modest security complement consisting of three squads of Marines supplemented by three squads of Battle Armor Marines.
- There are two variants of the Vulture-Class Strike Carrier. The first is a refit that simply removes the 6,000 Ton Cargo Bay to fit a Lithium Fusion Battery. Although this greatly increases the cost of the vessel, it provides a good deal of tactical and strategic mobility to the vessel This variant is designated as the Vulture II-Class Strike Carrier and is a very common variant.
- The Vulture III-Class, on the other hand, is a ground up rebuild of the original Vulture-Class, which makes a number of drastic changes tot he design. The number of DropShip collars is doubled from 2 to 4, while the Cargo Bay has been removed to mount a Lithium Fusion Battery. Ferro-Carbide armor allows the Vulture III-Class to both increase protection while requiring less Structural Integrity to do so, thereby saving a great deal of weight. The LRM and SRM Launchers have been upgraded with the Artemis IV FCS to increase their potency against DropShips, while the Spare Parts allocation has been increased by 1,000 Tons. The Marine Complement has been reduced, with two squads of each plus a third squad of regular Marines to serve as the personal attachment of the ranking officer.
