- I think this might be a bot or spammer. All of the accounts posted within one minute of creation, have only one post in the same board on the same topic, and at least JosueKnox hasn't responded (yet) to Karagin. They have very similar naming schemes, too. (First/Last, Capital Letters on both w/ no space)

Two of the postings seem to be related to the HBS computer game. Yet I am now convinced they maybe bots.

Indeed. Something's fishy here - the first two seem to have the same IP even, and share the first three IP digits with the third. Looks like bot AI is getting better. Crap like that is going to kill the internet one day...

I am wondering if they have the wrong fourms, then again given the names and such I think they are bots or secondary accounts of someone else.

I've not tried out any of the URLs in those fishy posts, and I half expect them to be malware links at this point. I'll ping NicJ about this situation when I'm sitting at a proper computer again.

I've also flagged this thread's first post for mod review, hoping someone more savvy than I can offer help or insights.

One point the post, for the most part, do seem to point to the HBS game, it might be that the posters put the question in the wrong spot, maybe however, there is the coding question and that is just odd.

These two posts are almost 100% identical in opening and body and closing. One has bit more fluff and some odd URLs, but both are the same question and given the wording these have to be bots

Seems like we have a new one, they are all minus the coding things, asking questions about the video games and it's almost like the bots are getting past things because they bring up the video games. One is now asking if folks use cheat engines for the HBS game, never heard cheat codes called a cheat engine so that it is a bit odd. And for the few posts that Cray or myself have commented on there is no replies back from the posters either.

Some bots are programmed to appear normal to get past security measures such as post limits prior to being allowed to include a link/signature/profile.

I am not really seeing what these folks gain anymore, no one trusts the bots or their links and thus they really only waste folks time.

Well it seems even more spambots got in.
Hopefully, they will have left something to work with, in order to stop it entirely.
