In the fluff and stats for the Defiance mech, it states the mech has a light fusion engine, in 3057.
The light fusion engine came out in 3062.

Is there a typo in either entry?
It does have some information that Blackwell may have had the light engine done before this time, but would not sell to Victor or the FS. But Defiance itself did not have it for the 3057 release.
If not a typo, then something needs to be fixed as it shows wrong dates for the Defiance mech to have one.

The mech came out in a GDL novel, it wasn't fully in accordance with the rules in the novel, so that may be what it was implying with the Light Fusion engine being there, you know the whole Prototype idea to test things out...

I could see that, if not for the issue of no other Defiance mech using the light engine at the time, nor seeing it being put into production within a few months of the Mech's release.
So it sounds unlikely. Might well be the correct thing, but sounds off.
It would also stand that if this is the case, there should be a note in the light engine or Defiance mech saying such is the case.
The Alliance mech has such information in it. The wiki shut that down as part of the non canon Battletechnology magazine issue, as it used tech that wasn't really available at the time.

I would also suggest the note as some people that don't know the history that well, could think that the information is correct from just the mech, and not reading the light fusion engine entry.

It was correct for the mech at the point of being a prototype, it failed amazingly in the novel, like so bad it was not funny. So until they (TPTB) figured it out and re-released it, it was a one off shot mech that failed.
