TYPO: The design's Jump Sail should be 900 meters, not 844, corrected in the design, but not he attached files.

- The XL Warship Engine and the Super-Compact KF Drive are my own homebrew items, fluffed to be experimental Star-League Tech that never saw the light of day. I originally put them on my Pimp-Class Battlecarrier, my personal vanity ship, but I had every intention to eventually fluff them out in full. Below is the doomed Star League test ship, although what doom it befalls & what became of it afterwards I leave up to anyone who wishes to use it.

- The Advanced Compact K-F Drive on the other hand, could just be back fitted into specific Warships for testing, or fit into new instances of an existing class. The "Spare Jump Sail" used in the ship below is assumed to loaded from within, and is simply the cost of the sail and the tonnage to mount it. The gear needed, the space it would take up and the cost of it is assumed to be trivial compared to the equipment already present for the jump sail itself.

- Now, how about a little info on the prototype in question, hmm? The Spirit of Pathfinder is named after the exploration ship TAS Pathfinder, and appropriately so. It was intended to push the envelope of Warships and was set to re-define the face of interstellar war as the Inner Sphere knew it. It was, however, very much a "test ship", and this shows through in every inch of the design.

- It's slow, painfully so, and has a pretty terrible Anti-ASF weapons compliment. That said, over a third of the ship's mass, more specifically 38,800 Tons, are dedicated to the ship's weapons, ammo, and the heatsinks needed to fire them. A rather spartan 65 Tons of Ferro-Carbide Armor afford it some protection, while Double Heatsinks allow it to have a full 50% of them knocked out and remain combat effective.

- It's also very small, in fact it's as small as it could feasibly be built without the use of a Sub-Compact K-F Drive. As such, it has a limited repertoire of DropShip Collars, although it does mount the maximum available for a ship of it's size. Slow, but it includes a LF Battery, and a Detachable Jump Sail... with a spare sail to help further facilitate tactical getaways. It has ample stores, generous Life Boats & Escape Pods, and quarters for a plentiful crew.

- The design philosophy of this prototype, summarized in a word, was "comprehensive". The crew served to insure that the prototype was well staffed and by extension, well maintained. The weaponry served to ensure that although it required escort, it could fire back and do so effectively. The armor ensured that escorts had some time to go to work and repel threats, while a small Aerospace complement was further shored up by a good amount of Small craft. These further bolstered by dedicated space for spare ships. While the inclusion of ASF and Small Craft ensured that test results were valuable for consideration when testing CVs. The armament further enabled the vessel to readily engage in Orbital Bombardment Support, which enabled it to test the performance of the XL Warship Drive when hovering over a planet.

- As for the layout of the ship, the fighter decks are laid out above the Spare Parts, Food & Water Stores, and the Fuel Tanks. They are divided into two decks, divided by the ship's "Keel". This "Keel" accounts for 3 points of the ships SI, and is sufficient to hold the ship together even if it got shot up to hell and back. It has a grid shape reminiscent of a "Y" if the ship's bones were to be laid bare and viewed from the front.

- The Small Craft Bay and the 1,100 Ton main Cargo Bay are nestled between the forks of the "Keel", with one door for servicing the Cargo Bay and two for launching and recovering the vessel's Small Craft. Both the Fighter Decks have a single door to service them, with a separate set of door-less bays to house spare AeroSpace Fighters. Each of these also contain a 250 Ton cargo bay with an access door on the outside, as well as an internal access point through the "Keel" which lets it load from the main cargo bay.

- The AR-10 Launcher Bays contain a trio of launchers in each, with fairly ample magazines to feed them. The docking collars are found just fore of the AR-10 Bays, with one on either side of the ship. The fore compliment is entirely energy based, with a trio of NL55s and a trio of Light NPPCs on each side, good for attacking small Warships and even DropShips, thanks to their small size. Finally, a pair of Heavy Naval Gauss weapons, fed by a monstrous 1,000 round magazine... EACH... make up the entirety of the vessel's rear-facing armament. Their extreme range, deep magazines, and heavy firepower make this vessel dangerous to chase despite it's terrible acceleration.

- The crew quarters make up the underbelly of the fore, while the bridge and sensor arrays are located in a 'cup' within the "Keel". Another, larger 'cup' can be found aft, housing the vessel's drive system. Many of the control wires and elements of the attitude thrusters can be found within the "Keel" itself, further protecting them damage and contributing to the robustness of the design. These can be accessed via dedicated Engineering Spaces, dubbed "McKenna's Tubes" by the vessel's designers, after both the famous admiral James McKenna and Norm McKenna, the captain of the original TAS Pathfinder.

- As for the techs themselves:

--- XL Warship Drive: This Drive is 50 times more expensive than a standard drive of the same rating and weighs as much as a drive that is 1 rating smaller. So, for example, a 2/3 rated XL Warship Drive would weigh as much as a 1/2 Rated Standard Warship Drive, but cost 50x more in terms of C-Bills. Pretty straightforward, really.

--- Super Compact K-F Drive: On the other hand, the "Super Compact" K-F Drive is very different overall. This drive only weighs 32% of the ships mass instead of 45.25% of a "standard" Compact Drive. However, unlike the Compact K-F Drive, this drive is 7.5x as expensive as compared to the 'mere' 5x hike in cost of the "Standard" Compact. Still pretty straightforward though.

--- Advanced Compact K-F Drive: Not shown on this ship, but it's basically a regular Compact K-F Drive with 44.25% mass and 6x cost over a regular Compact K-F Drive. It was designed to allow a Lithium-Fusion Battery to be included in the drive's overall mass. This drive requires an LF Battery to be mounted in order to function, however, so it is in practice much costlier overall. The LF Battery doesn't need to be functional though, it's only that the mass be present and one could, in theory, mount a "dummy" LF to fool it... although that makes much less sense as the Advanced Compact K-F Drive is already 20% more expensive anyway...
