Official Designation: (for example) 6th Lyran Guards (Valkyries) – Einherjar Detachment

Sub unit Assignment: Valkyries’ Einherjar
(Einherjar - Old Norse literally "army of one", "those who fight alone")

Einherjar Program:
The Lyran Commonwealth BattleMech Strike Tactics Instructor program (STI program). More popularly known as Einherjar teaches BattleMech strike tactics and techniques (individual / lance / etc) to selected Wehrmacht Mech-Krieger (Army Mech-Warrior), who’s usage is to act in small groups that make rapid surprise raids, employ guerrilla shock tactics and irregular warfare etc …

Upon completion they are Einherjar

That is - they act as the 6th Lyran Guards Ranger / Seals Detachment – including aspects from all branches – sea space air land … special warfare unit ….

BattleMechs

Aerospace
VTOL / Conventional Air
Infantry – Ranger / Commando units

Originally (Star League Era) assigned to a Fortress and Leopard CV Dropships

All houses have a set up like this. LOKI tends to be the special forces for the LC, while normal units are trained to do this as well.
The DC has ISF, the FS has the Rabid Foxes, the FWL has SAFE, and the CC has their version, which I can't even begin to spell.
Granted, most guerilla units don't use Aerofighters, as they are hard to hide because of hangers and landing zones. Which is kind of stupid, as most atmospheric fixed wing aircraft require a runway more then aerofighters need. Again, shuttles are more likely to be needed, if you can't use standard cargo moving aircraft.

So the only thing here is trying to implement the name.

If you really want to do something with this, try coming up with packets for the RPG as well as training courses on what they all are required to do, and put in all the variants for each state, like the DC are required to learn how to use the Katana on top of everything else.

Recommended, but not required units would be great as well. Things like standard vehicles that are used on the world, in order to infiltrate things easier they say having a Bulldog or Maxim roll down the street to deliver some of the forces. Hell, making support vehicles to do this would be ideal.

Suggest researching the topic first,

Gunslinger program ...

Lyran Intelligence Corps …

Lyran Commonwealth Armed Forces …

Then I suggest reading documents such as

https://blog.refactortactical.com/blog/how-are-the-rangers-and-special-forces-different

and what does this show?

It shows that the government has different resources on hand to deal with threats in different ways. The fact is they all get the same basic training, and branch out from there. Rangers tend to avoid the spying aspect of things, and deal more with the fighting then spec ops. Spec ops tends to do more sneaking and consider a fire fight to be the last thing they want. Both get trained, but how they use that training is the key.

Blogs, tend to have biased opinions to them, if they are not an opinion entirely. They gloss over or even leave out facts that don't show their point of view. There are also facts that can not be released, as that goes against the governments rules, as it reveals national security secrets.

Units are trained to become guerilla troops as needed most of the time. Just like training for missions in spec ops.
Rangers lead the way is a quote from a few sources. Commandos try to go in quietly, as they don't want the attention to what they are doing. With this, it shows a lack of understand of the very units and how they operate.
Rangers are basically assault infantry, while commandos are basic spec ops. Saying they are one and the same is very wrong.

And the title of the web page included … how they are different ….

Having a state create a specialist program to create a specialist military team is not beyond the reams of improbability …

It comes down to training and the mission they are assigned to!
