As all worlds are autonomous and self-contained to each other (for the most part) a more detailed understanding of every world is required.
When considering each Houses individual worlds, therefore, a detailed template needs to be established to provide a comprehensive understanding of each individual world.
Such as ….
World Ruler Is the world owned by more than one House at the same time? Capital / Population Other Major population centres / Populations etc. Jump point distance to Lagrange Point <Jump Gate> … hours Raleigh Scattering - hues colours Sky Ocean Standard Gravity Atmospheric pressure Standard (Breathable) Coordinated Universal Time per day Standard Size Orbital Period Moon(s) - Specifics Seasonal Duration / Temperature Range Spring Summer Fall Winter Environmental Conditions Polar Tundra Evergreen Forests Seasonal Forests Grasslands Deserts Tropical Rainforests Oceans Socio-Industrial Level Technological Sophistication Is this a single technological world or is it multi (refer size of population)? Ultra-Tech High-tech Advanced Standard Lower-tech Population (3025) Growth rate Cityscape Number of cities - Housing, Transportation, sanitation, Utilities, Land Use, Production of Goods, Sale of Goods, and Communication Location Above ground Below Ground Architectural Style Commercial Residential Defence - Ground Based Naval Energy Weapons Anti-aerospace fighter Space Scape Space station(s) / Satellites Commercial Military Naval construction yard(s) Commercial Military Military Size <Divisions> Military Industrial Complex on world – rate of production available? Technology <Related to Technological Sophistication> - Refer to House TO&E for available weapons / weapon systems. World Map Available? How detailed is the Map?
Get thee to Coventry … Now is the winter of our discontent, made glorious by this daughter of Tharkad … Our army shall march through. Well to New Avalon tonight.

Quote: a more detailed understanding of every world is required.
An argument on the internet where you're left hanging for lack of details does not mean the game needs to change planetary details in its publications.
Most players just skim the planetary entries for defenders and terrain data so they can have their board game battles. The economic data most players care about are key military factories as published in the Objectives series.
The Touring the Stars series has the most data on single planets ever given in BattleTech. As much fun as I have writing them and building new worlds, they're not hot sellers.

I like them Cray, I mean having the info is cool and helps the GMs out, and the data is fine, no different than the stuff from older books really or from other fan-run semi-pro publications like BATTLETECHNOLOGY, etc..
Then again I liked the old unit books and scenarios backs, but if we base everything on how well TROs, then no Battletech books sell well.
