--- I designed this as a FWL exclusive Medium Tank using what was, during the Jihad, cutting edge FWL tech. I like how it turned out, and when looking up FWL vehicles and 'Mechs to find inspiration for a name I realized it was very, very similar to the Main Gauche. This tank is 50% bigger and a little bit slower, but is also clad in ten and a half tons of cutting edge Light Ferro-Fibrous to the Main Gauche's five tons of standard. While the Baselard uses energy based backup weapons, they are still fairly pitiful. The unit's main gun, a Light Gauss Rifle, has a two ton magazine allowing twice the endurance of the Main Gauche. A good, if slow, fire support vehicle with decent combat endurance and adequate armor.

I do like the the basic concept of the tank, of sourcing only FWL weapons. Also the use of the light Gauss is a nice touch as it doesn’t get much love despite its really great range. I will criticise its low speed was that tends tinge the falling down point for tabjs, but it has decent armour. Also using VSPL as the anti infantry choiceis a nice touch especially how the two of them snuggly fit in the turret
