First – The serious issues of his youth to 3050 (approx.) …

Phelan - https://www.sarna.net/wiki/Phelan_Kell
Born 3031

Parents –
Morgan Kell, Baron Von Arc-Royal (since 3028),
and Salome Ward

Siblings –
Caitlin Kell
Born 3032

Megan Kell (Half-Sister)
Married Daniel Allard in 3034, at the time he was 37yrs
Between 3004 and 3007 Morgan began his relationship with “Tempest”
Battle of Mallory’s World / exile to St. Marinus House 2016
Birth year could be anywhere between 3005 and 3017 making her age range at the time Phelan’s birth in 3031 as between 14 to 26 years. (Marriage age - 17 to 29 - jailbait to respectable age - Daniel! what are you thinking?, she is not even half your age, To OK this is a respectable age gap.)

“Phelan spent some of his early life on Outreach being raised with members of Wolf’s Dragoons in a sibko-like environment. While there he met and trained with Natasha Kerensky”

Note 3030 - Dragoons receive Outreach for their service from a grateful House Davion.

Note at 3031 Natasha is now 58 yrs - thus any training with her will place her into her 60’s.

He will require at least one parent to travel with him, young age – thus he will be with his mother Salome – also why would one sibling travel and the other remain on Arc Royal when there in only 1 year between the two siblings? – thus Caitlin in all probability would have been along for the ride also … so where is her note that she was also trained in a sibko-like environment and she met and was trained with Natasha Kerensky also?

Then considering the time from Arc Royal to Outreach, then training and then Back again his time away from his father could have been considerable – a few years at the minimum?

What this also requires investigating is the discussion between Jamie and Morgan as to the Sibko training system – and why he would allow his children to participate? i.e. what was said and what was not said about this training.

Also remember – the last supply run in 3019 to 3020 – Jamie Wolf received orders from Khan Kerlin Ward, namely to prepare the Inner Sphere for a Clan Invasion.

Then there is the issue of Morgan’s relationship with Katrina Steiner (Archon until her death in 3040) -if Morgan was in possession of secret information regarding Wolf’s Dragoons and their sibko-like training environment then why didn’t he communicate this with one of his oldest and dearest friends? Especially when you remember that he is a member of Heimdall – the loyal opposition?

If Morgan, his wife Salome or their children discovered that the Dragoons were in fact Clan – former SLDF from the Kerensky Cluster – then why wasn’t this information provided to Katrina? Especially when Jamie’s orders were to prepare the IS for a Clan Invasion … at this point in time Jamie is in the perfect position to relay information through Salome to Morgan and finally to Archon Katrina Steiner, and complete his mission to prepare the IS. Remember the FC is now the largest military thus by assisting the largest military the IS will be in a better position to resist the Clans!

And if the existence of the Clans was conveyed then why wasn’t the IS better prepared for a Clan Invasion?

Also if this information was conveyed before 3039 (War of, ...) then this also puts the entire war with the DC into serious doubt - as once more if the FC had taken out the CC then the FC would have been in a far more superior position to take on the Clans. Hanse has now secured his rear from any possible CC entanglement, and gained the maximum resources he could for a future war with the Clans - win / win situation.

What this therefore thus suggests is that Jamie Wolf disobeyed his orders and did not prepare the IS for the Clan Invasion by providing this information.

So what was Jamie’s plans to prepare the IS for the coming of the Clans?

During this interim period …

(Note West Point has an eligibility requirement of a minimum 17yrs – one could assume that this would hold true for The Nagelring.)

Phelan
Sent to Nagelring (assume 3048) – and subsequently expelled for not thinking things through and by doing so getting people killed …. I did nothing wrong! How about when you go out on a rescue mission you take as many professionals as you can, to assist you with the rescue mission – and you don’t go out on your own! …. Think first what is required to fulfill an effective rescue mission, whom can help me … move as a group, save as a group … if he had taken medical professionals with him how many, who died, could have been saved?

So 1st year Cadet only – during which he was expelled.

Run home to daddy - Joined 2nd Regiment – Kell Hounds

Tyra Mirabrg short but intense love affair (noted as being several months) – Marooned on Gunzburg en route to the Periphery?
(Note Gunzburg – 3049 FRR world – noted as being strategically important system – prior to this owned by Lyran Commonwealth thus must have been one of the worlds provided to the new FRR by Katrina when she really did not have to! – In my opinion this was a mistake by the TPTB Katrina would never have provided any world to the newly established FRR just because of an offhand quip to Theodore Kurita – so in all reality the planet should have still been LC)
Thus making Tyra and her father Tor FC citizens- thus making her transfer into the FRR First Rasalhague Drakons an impossibility – as she would be in the AFFC.
Thus making her the one to dive into Dire Wolf during the Battle of he Radstadt System an impossibility.
This also therefore puts the year of peace into doubt.
Also as she may still be alive somewhere in the AFFC if Phelan returns to Arc Royal in the future there could be an awkward situation with his old and new love interest being in the same place at the same time – circle of equals – winner gets Phelan?
Also if Phelan was beaten up by fanatical followers of Tor and brought to him this would have caused an incident that would have had Tor and his followers arrested – as being FC citizens they have now assaulted the son of Baron Von Arc-Royal … get the picture … so Tor surrendering to the Clans in 3052 becomes an impossibility – as in all reality he should be in a FC prison somewhere!
Also the word ‘marooned’ invokes an unwanted connotation here – a better word / phase should have been that the Kells were in layover – as they were waiting for their Jump-ship connection to arrive within the Gunzburg system that would take them onto the Periphery world – The Rock.

Age 18 (3049) was captured on The Rock by Vladimir, Clan Wolf.

However - Fast forward to 3050 – Clan Invasion commences and Jamie Wolf calls all the leaders of the IS to Outreach to discuss the new threat. He revealed here and now the origins of his unit (remember he also had the perfect opportunity during Salome, Phelan and Caitlin’s visit to Outreach) … at this point you really have to wonder why Melissa didn’t point out this fact as she would have known about the training through her mother … so why didn’t Jamie get roasted over the fire for not supplying this information back then?

There is a great deal of hidden information here – as well as supposition.

That said, however, Phelan’s early training and his association with Wolf’s Dragoons does raise some interesting questions.

Next Time – Phelan in the Clans – Bondsman and Stockholm Syndrome – was he suffering a psychological issue or did he turn traitor by consciously joining Clan Wolf?

Another Kerensky is incompetent or a traitor thread? Really?
Oh. This time it is Phelan, so it makes it sooo much different.

Next time. Phelan may well have been tired of the bs dealing with the LC and their rich doing what ever they wanted to and others suffered for it.
Or maybe the training he got while young, appealed to him, so he took to the military set up of the clans.
Or maybe this is just an attempt to undercut another thread?
Put up or shut up. It is very simple.

Now to start with the truth of the situation. Morgan and Salome were warriors. They would have had nannies and such dealing with the children, as the kids could NOT accompany them into the combat fields. As the kids were born right after the 4th war, it is highly likely that the Kell Hounds were off dealing with combat situations up and down the border, as well as being a target for assassins. Then comes the part that they were also diplomats. You do not take even a 3 year old into any sort of political situation. It gets even more problematic once they learn how to speak.

Already the story is being twisted to fit the alt lies. Not taking professionals out to save others was done so he could save the majority of those in the bus crash. Had he contact authorities, they would have made sure he couldn't get out, just like the canon version states. So all would have died, not just a few. But again, the truth doesn't fit the alt view.

Funny. Run home to daddy. Where in the canon story was it said he was going to go anywhere else but the Kell Hounds? Oh yeah. Left that fact out.

Intermission Thoughts -

First Let us take a step back to 3038/39 just prior to the commencement of the War of 3039 – if you adopt the proposition that Jamie Wolf dropped the ball on the coming of the Clans, as instructed by his Khan.
This information will, therefore, be immediately conveyed by Archon Katrina Steiner to her new son-in-law First price Hanse Davion.

Being ever the opportunist Hanse Davion will go ahead with his plans to remove the CC from the map – absorb their military industrial capabilities, as well as their Jump-ship fleet into the FC.

Either during or just after the conquest of the CC the entire military industrial capabilities of the FC (including the former CC) will be required to undergo re-tooling to incorporate new weapons tech …
At this stage you can also postulate that Jamie Wolf will be ‘requested’ to provide all the information he has as to Clan technology over to the FC …
Expect, therefore that the FC will adopt new advanced tech into their military, including …
Omni BattleMechs
Omni military vehicles
Omni Fighters
Power Armour
Warships etc.
As expect, the AFFC will undergo OpFor training (initially) with Wolf’s Dragoons to prepare them for the Clans Invasion – The publicised reason – understanding how to utilize the new technology efficiently whist in combat. (Though only a few key people will know the real reason).
RCT CO and XO – Additional officer training – they will be brought into the fold – trained in Clan customs of bidding etc.

The FC, therefore, will commence a total revamp in order to best prepare themselves for the coming invasion.

At the same time, as the FC know that the Clan’s objective will be Terra they will need a primary planetary C&C’s post, and staging post from which to direct the war, for public reasons this will be designated the new Capitol world for the FC – construction to commence immediately.

May I suggest – “Rigil Kentarus - and its lunar colony"

The big question, however, will the FC leadership form an inter-House round table conference with DC, FWL, FRR, ComStar, and Wolf’s Dragoons (Also - will the periphery states and St Ives also be requested to attend)? And if they do attend will the FC / Dragoons provide information so that they too may commence a rapid military crash-enhancement program?

At this point, therefore you have to wonder if this conference may lead to the formation of the Second Star League?

The question(s) that may pose an issue(s) – from which direction are the Clans going to invade – how many clans will invade - will the IS defence be of the form of a new SLDF (and who will command this force). Will this new SLDF establish a series of forward bases within the deep periphery, within likely invasion routes, in an effort to locate any Clan forward bases that may be used for logistics / medical / military production purposes etc. i.e. take the fight to them within the deep periphery first?

Also of interest at this stage is the question – did the IS recognise the inherent flaw regarding the Clan’s Sibko Training system – and if so, did they factor this into their plans to stave off the Clan invasion (kill / capture as many Clan warriors as quickly as possible)?

Also of interest – will the Clans catch on that the IS knows of their expected invasion, and that hey are preparing for war!

So, many, many, questions will be required to be answered?

His will therefore set up the basis of a new 3049 Inner Sphere …

PS – If the FC knows of the coming of the Clans – this will have a profound impact upon next generation of IS leaders …

Otherwise if you don’t want to adopt the proposition that Jamie Wolf didn’t drop the ball on the coming of the clans they you can stick with canon for the majority of the story.

Thus, as for our protagonist – Phelan – we can still say (either of the stories the IS knows or does not know).
As like many professionals, who get pregnant and have children, Salome decided to raise the children until they were of an age to be sent to boarding school on Arc-Royal. Before returning to work with the Kell Hounds; or she could have transferred herself to an administrative position with the Kell Hounds. That would provide her day-care facilities and a 9 to 5 schedule – prioritizing the needs of the children above her own, like every good mother.
And somewhere in between all this she undertook a ‘vacation’ to Outreach to provide the children with ‘a varied form of education’.

As the years pass, he is still a restless soul who was accepted into the Nagelring, at 17 yrs, however, due to a single bad decision where he thought he could be the hero – he went out alone into a snowstorm to perform a rescue mission, without obtaining permission from superiors, who would have insisted a team of professionals was required, and definitely not a single 1st year cadet! – and in so doing his actions led to deaths of civilians. As he was unrepentant for his actions, he was expelled.

It is suggested he wanted to go any where but return to Arc-Royal – no funds, and no one to assist him Morgan may have sent someone to bring him home as he knew what was to come his father.

He would be shipped out with the first Hound’s unit on rotation. It was the school of hard knocks for him now on – he was thus enlisted into the Second Regiment – Kell Hounds and shipped out to the Periphery – Pirate Hunting! Disgraced he had no choice but to obey.

(As at this point you have to realise that Phelan will be removed from his position as heir designate Baron Von Arc-Royal due to his unsuitability within Lyran Lords System … Something that Morgan will have to drill into him. – The Title will now have to go to his sister Caitlin as she will now be the next Baroness Von Arc Royal, it will now be her duty to assume the position … unless he can shape up and apologize.)

His father could have stated that he was removing him from polite society (for a time) and into the periphery to allow him to think his actions and his future through, - as this may be for his best … telling him that he should apologise to The Nagelring corps of masters and to the cadets as a whole and beg for readmittance if necessary upon his return from the periphery – as he now understands his error – and be readmitted with the next cadet corps (with a sizeable donation from his father) – note he would now be either in the same Class as that of his younger sister / or even one year below her! Thus making his position very hard to endure if he returns, and he would know it very well.
Or he can remain within the 2nd Kell Hounds with no real hope of ever being given command of the Hounds or being a Lord … his position and future therefore would be bleak …

Though as we know … The Clans arrive in 3049 – it is believed he fell in combat …

Circa 3050 – As far as Morgan, Salome, Caitlin and Megan and the wider IS believe Phelan Kell fell in combat whist fighting the “unknown” forces upon the world – The Rock, whist ‘hunting pirates’.

His Father and mother however know the truth and prepare to exact revenge upon the Clans for the loss of their child …

At this point I would also like include the supposition that ‘hunting pirates’ could have been a forward reconnaissance mission for the coming of the clans … as stated above …

And if this is so the entire initial wave of the Clans will involve an immediate response by the Inner Sphere – a response that they may have been planning for, for the past decade …
Get thee to Coventry … Now is the winter of our discontent, made glorious by this daughter of Tharkad … Our army shall march through. Well to New Avalon tonight.

Phelan in the Clans – Bondsman and Stockholm Syndrome – was he suffering a psychological issue, or did he turn traitor by consciously joining Clan Wolf?

This is where Phelan’s psychological state is very difficult to pin down. (he is not the brightest spark)

First can we say Phelan is coping with his feelings of …?

Emptiness
Possible?

Dissatisfaction with his current life
Being expelled.
Sent into exile by his father after being informed he is no longer heir to the family Lordship / world of Arc-Royal.
Dumped by his lover following a fast and passionate romance.
Assaulted by his lover’s father and his followers.
Defeated in Mech Combat – in which he is injured - this must have been a blow to his ego.
Imprisoned and alone – in a foreign warrior culture, that will involve routine beatings and where he treated virtually as an indentured servant.

Feelings of alienation – isolation, powerlessness, demoralization, dissatisfaction, pessimism, vulnerability, identity stability disorder
Possible?

Feeling that he does not measure up to his father’s expectations.
Possible?

At this point does the Clan provide him with the rigidity he desires? – providing security and confidence, a belief system. Does it also provides him with the symbols of success, power, and happiness – his internal needs of becoming a warrior and part of an extended family.
Which will help to explain why he remains with Clan Wolf.

Can he be said to be developing positive feelings towards Ulric (as the father figure he never had - the Hounds come 1st, him a distant 2nd?) and to Clan Wolf (those holding him captive – as the family he never had - the Wards?)
Possible?

Clan Wolf can also be seen to provide a manipulative seed - he is taught to trust his feelings that the Clan way of life is a doorway to enlightenment, power, and happiness. This is achieved through the notion of family – the Wards of Clan Wolf – they also create a fear of leaving the group within Phelan and a desire to become part of the group.

Before he knows what has happened can it be said that Phelan has joined a Cult – The Cult: Clan Wolf?
Possible?

That said – in my opinion, it is possible that Phelan’ had developed Stockholm Syndrome and from there joined the cult of Clan Wolf.

It is possible, and yet a 100% accuracy will never be known – we are only aroused by suspicion as to a possible solution to an answer.

As for turning traitor, I find this very difficult to believe.

Phelan is hardy a strategist, who can devise plans to overcome the hard challenges, as this was seen prior to his expulsion. Thus the trope about Phelan deciding the forces of evil and malevolence are an option due to an amoral reason – delusion of grandeur, revenge or money or even a nonsensical option – hardly seems appropriate.
Sorry to say he is hardly the villain type to turn traitor.

So where to from here? Circa 3040 …

First, we will have to answer some of those pesky questions, as noted above, as the answers to these will form the basis of what the IS now represents when the Clans decide to make their move.

Before we answer these questions, you will have to ask yourself, what is your space opera going to look like?
Where do you want your protagonist to go and what do you want them to accomplish in your story?
– consider reading the following …

https://www.barnesandnoble.com/blog/sci-fi-fantasy/55-essential-space-operas-last-70-years/

Those that are interesting adaptations to me include … if we are to follow titular families in the far future consider …

The restoration of human knowledge leading to a renaissance.
Defending the IS from tyranny – internal and external tyranny should be considered.
Society and the role of the military.
The founding of new worlds and empires.
Rulership.
Tragedy and Ecstasy.
Etc.

Using a little lateral thinking we can surmise that with the knowledge and scope of the coming threat both House Steiner and House Davion would (or should) realise that they are not in a position to defend the entire IS from the oncoming Clan Armada …

This would, therefore, necessitate an Inter House Conference, in collaboration with Wolfs Dragoons.

Formation of the Second Star League – dissemination of information … and the formation of the new SLDF?

Or just the dissemination of information …

In either case Phealan would be aware of this development …. So would the Clans also be aware of this development?
Or do we just go down the Canon track …. ?

What would make for the greatest Space Opera for our protagonist and for those who would want to be involved in this story?

So how do we set the story up for the next great adventure?

Canon / Non-Canon

3049 - Upon our protagonist’s capture, by Clan forces, we are informed he is currently heavily wounded, due to his ‘Mech being destroyed during the firefight - in which the remaining Kell Hound forces had to run for their lives in order to escape.

Believing their Liege lord’s / CO’s son is now a corpse the Kell Hounds highest officer on the field decided they had no choice but to abandon his corpse to the enemy – as they had no way of knowing he was still alive – and they did not attempt to contact the enemy requesting their fallen be returned, so that they could provide them with a proper burial.

In the next breath we are informed he is being sent to the interrogation deck … so has he been through the hospital first or were his injuries just not that severe? As he will now be subjected to drug induced torture in order to force him to divulge all his information regarding the successor states militaries …

So how long did it take him to recovery from his injuries and his torture session?

At this point can I point something out – The Clans are supposed to be, as Tex put it, “people bred for conflict – eugenic born stormtroopers – psychotic warriors devoid of all human emotion except hate and pride, with the leadership to drive them on into war with no hesitation – a society who believe in honour for honour’s sake with a side order of honour - who believe that those within the Inner Sphere are nothing more than jumped up barbarians.”
The Clans use of medical resources upon this Inner Sphere barbarian was for the sole reason of obtaining this information, they really didn’t care if he lived or died. As he survived, he therefore becomes a helot slave, a “Bonds-man” …
At this stage we are expected to believe he is to be treated with a degree of respect because in 2784 – some 270 years prior – his great, great, …., great grandfather Captain Michael Ward, a confidant of Aleksandr Kerensky, departed the IS and assisted in forming the Clans … leaving his daughter behind, and would go on to be the source of the Ward DNA and its Blood-name.
DNA of which that has not changed from the time it was taken 270 odd years prior due to it being stored in a genetics facility designed for this simple fact.
Though his daughter does provides a direct line of succession to Phelan … as his great, great, …, great grandmother, we are expected to believe at this stage that this society, based upon eugenic purity to superiority, will accept his DNA as being pure enough – despite the fact that how many other DNAs that have been added to the mix in the interim and the scientific fact that while it is true that you get half your genes from each parent, genetically your mother’s are considered to be more dominant than your fathers - so how many males and females have been born along Phelan’s ancestors to amend the original DNA strain?.
At this point, can I ask how diluted are Phelan’s genes when it comes to the original Ward DNA strain? And who is going to believe that society based upon eugenic purity and superiority would ever accept such an Inner Sphere strain, rife with impurities, and was never maintained within laboratory conditions as such as the “pure strain” that is held on the Clan home-worlds in laboratory conditions and is used within their iron-womb sibko system – as it was amended via the natural freeborn system – who are deemed to be second class citizens with no real rights whatsoever?

So, in all reality, how can Phelan win a Blood-name with inferior DNA, due to the Clan’s overt DNA bigotry and thereby rise through the ranks?

And at the same time how did Phelan come to be the Bondsman of Khan Ulric Kerensky when he is from the Inner Sphere – and why did Ulric take it upon himself to train him in the ways of the Clans – going all grandfatherly upon an Inner Sphere barbarian, especially when they do not understand the concept of a grandfather as an Inner Sphere citizen would?

So, when an aerospace fighter kamikazed itself into the bridge of the warship Dire Wolf and Phelan’s ‘heroic’ rescue of Khan Ulric Kerensky and Star Captain Vlad Phelan is granted him full warrior status – a caste change that is by Clan Wolf’s standards very rare event.

Manifest destiny (Or the TPTB tipping the scales on what it means to be Clan)?

At this point I would also like to ask why he was not challenged to multiple circle-of-equals due to his impure DNA – or were all clansmen ordered not to do so by their Khan?

For a society built upon DNA superiority through the genetic iron womb – Phelan’s presence would be a slap in the face of any zealot clansman warrior … and, as a consequence, wouldn’t it be more believable these pure-breads would try to kill him at every turn or have him transferred to a PGC at this stage to side-line him?

Canon

Periphery Action

3049 – August - Whist undertaking a mission upon the largest asteroid in the system (possesses a breathable atmosphere), known as The Rock, in the Oberon Confederation the 2nd Regiment of the Kell Hounds is engaged by the elements of Clan Wolf – a heavily wounded Phelan Kell is taken as a Bondsman … he is then either healed first then interrogated with drugs or in the reverse order …

At this point – How did a copy of Phelan Kell’s Battle ROM make its way all the way from the Periphery to Terra and Primus Myndo Waterly? So who retrieved the Battle ROM (ROM Agent) and on which ship was it sent to a HPG facility – and how was this achieved under the nose of Clan Wolf?
If ComStar is able to achieve this – then who else has this ability – as there is clearly a flaw in their security? – otherwise the only other logical thought is that ComStar has Bug-Eye Jumpships operating in the Periphery – so why are they there?

At this point - I would like to inject a small hypothesis of mine – A newly healed Bondsman Phelan is (with a minder) will be sent in advance of the Clan Invasion to the closest world with a ComStar HPG facility – Oberon VI – prior to the invasion on 18th September – there Phelan would be instructed to send a pre-arranged coded message to Wolfs Dragoons on Outreach, the Recall Order (as I can see no other means of sending this message to the Dragoons. – Thus, shortly thereafter Natasha Kerensky, will be only one to begin her return voyage – as well as the crew of the Jump-ship at a minimum.)

Thus Phelan being heavily wounded upon The Rock becomes highly questionable – due to recovery time.

3050 – January – Phelan would be a witness to Anastasius Focht’s arrival upon the Dire Wolf, the attack by the Nova Cat’s Loremaster. And due to his proximity with Khan Ulric Kerensky and il-Khan Leo Showers he would learn of ComStar’s most recent duplicitous move – the arrangement whereby ComStar would, if provided sovereignty from Clan interference, they would suppress any news related to the Clan invasion, and assist in the administering of occupied worlds and on occasion provide military intelligence.

So now let us consider how many SERIOUS defenders Clan Wolf engage

First Wave – March – April 3050

3050 – March - The invasion of the Inner Sphere ‘proper’ commences

March – Chateau (FC) – 10th Donegal Guards RCT

Second Wave – May 3050

The idea that the ‘governments of the Inner Sphere were too stunned to react’, is perhaps one of the most lame excuses ever devised – these Houses have been in a state of almost constant war for the past 270 years – in which there has been Four Succession Wars of varying intensity …

May – Verthandi (FRR) – 2nd Battalion 2nd Kell Hounds; 3rd Battalion 2nd Drakons; 4th Verthandi Armored Infantry Brigade

Third Wave – June – July 3050

Here we have to once again deal with the “Hidden World” scenario to which many object and I consider should be SOP – As here we go once again where TPTBs favourites are allowed access and everyone else is not – by resolving their logistical concerns “by creating forward logistics depos by moving through uninhabited systems to avoid detection, then deposit their cargo hidden among asteroids, set into orbit of or placed on the surface of barren worlds. With forward supply depos set up inside enemy territory the supply lines were drastically shortened … to conduct operations at a much faster pace.”
So again the Clans have an advantage that the IS are not allowed to copy?

It is here we begin to see a more organised defence – however again I reject the idea of sending their forces in piecemeal – one RCT per world as it were …

Again have a look at Tukayyid – more IS battles of this design should have been seen at this point forward … and yet were never seen so you have to wonder what is going on when you have people such as Morgan Kell, Morgan Hasek-Davion, Hanse Davion, Theodore Kurita, Jamie Wolf etc as the main tacticians on the IS side.

3050 – July – Planting (FC) – 41st Avalon Hussars RCT
3050 – July – Ridderkerk – 1st Lyran Regulars RCT
3050 – July – Vantaa (FC) – 10th Donegal Guards RCT (surviving 2/3rds); Alpha & Bravo Battalions, 3rd Regiment, 12th Star Guards

At this point I would like to ask when will the support units arrive?

This then leads to one of the most ridiculous battles within the Clan Invasion … The Battle for Rasalhague (FRR)

And once more our protagonist returns. Since Rasalhague is on the Wolf / Bear border ilKhan Leo Showers manipulated the time line for the bidding to commence to invade the planet during the Wave and simultaneously forced the Wolves to keep a Galaxy in reserve.

So on July 7 aboard the Dire Wolf the bidding process commenced – However this is where Phelan’s character is morphed into something completely different as TPTB cannot allow the old Phelan to exist …
So between August 3049 and July 3050 we are expected to believe that the Wolf Clan morphed Phelan (a very lowly IS Bondsman!) form a 1st Year Nagelring Cadet – who was expelled for not thinking things through on a rescue mission, resulting in the deaths of children to some sort of tactical genius that would advise hem on a successful invasion of Rasalhague – as he is now such a consummate expert on Clan Wolf Tactics.
Sorry but I call Shenanigans! That is unless an ageing Natasha Kerensky (who should be in a solhama unit or back on Outreach due to her age) was the one advising Clan Wolf due to her many years of expertise within the IS and Phelan had nothing to do with it at all – as shown previously he is not that bright!

Also this is the capitol world of the FRR - any sane person would ask for assistance from the AFFC and DCMS to assist with its defence – this battle should have been the first time that all three realms put aside their differences and formed a united front against the Clan Invasion – and yet what we received was another pitiful excuse of a battle! That said …
3050 – July – Rasalhague (FRR) – 1st and 2nd Drakons; 1st and 3rd Freemen; and other assorted regiments from Rasalhague.

At this point in time, it is clear to see that Phelan has completely adopted the Clans as his “foster family.”

Fourth Wave – July – October 3050

Here we see the introduction of PGCs – absolute hypocrisy on the part of everyone involved – as even the ilKhan initially stated that as they had not been included in any of the original bids they could not be utilized within the IS – however as Clan Smoke Jaguar had been caught with their hand in the cookie jar it was finally agreed that they would be allowed in late August 3050.

However in late October 3051 fate intervened with a shilone kamikaze attack upon the bridge of the Dire Wolf – resulting in Phelan’s ascendancy and ilKhan Leo Shower’s death … and where shortly thereafter on the 1st November a Grand Council was to have been conducted … and due to death of the il Khan was never convened …

However as the Clans were now without an ilKhan they are now forced to return to the Clan Home worlds in order to elect a new ilKhan from amongst their number …

So within the canon stream we now have him on a voyage to the Clan Home Worlds - where he would have fun and games with his fellow true-born Clan warriors (and completely ignoring the plight of the free-born warrior and civilian alike) and would be allowed to challenge for the Ward Blood-name – due to the original holder conveniently committing ritual suicide and naming this freeborn (Phelan) as her desired successor. And with the assistance of Natasha Kerensky we are supposed to believe that after how many months absent from the cockpit he is somehow transformed into a better pilot that the best of the Clan Wolf Wards present who are also fighting for the same name – remember the last time he was in a cockpit was on The Rock and that didn’t work out well for him!
So once again Really?

And again we have to ask what is going on with a true-born pure-bread Ward nominating a free-born with diluted DNA?

And who goes on to win their Blood-name and now, has the ability to rise through the ranks, … how, when these Clansmen have been trained from birth for this very act - and Phelan’s historical ability is spotty at best given his immature psychology and lack of martial prowess that is drummed into every Clan Warrior?

I once more call shenanigans!
Get thee to Coventry … Now is the winter of our discontent, made glorious by this daughter of Tharkad … Our army shall march through. Well to New Avalon tonight.

Battle of Tukayyid – May 3052

Natasha Kerensky DOB 2973 thus at 3052 she is now 79 – given her advanced age why appoint her Khan?
And Phelan is elected as saKhan when he also is an outsider with questionable DNA?

Again this can only be considered interference by TPTB – let us keep existing characters and not introduce those who are more politically / culturally acceptable!

Both are outsiders to the Clan who have been absorbed / re-absorbed and everyone is expected to believe such a promotion given the Clans Xenophobia.

As for the Wolf in exile – the wolved have way too much pride to go into exile their culture would demand – it is war to the death to fight for your position or your death in battle …

Again, this can only be considered interference by TPTB!

3067 he was part of Peter’s Lyran Coalition -sorry but no as the optics of a Clan force upon the Lyran Capital world would drive more to Katherines side. Politically Peter cannot ever allow a Clan force upon The Capital World unless Phelan and his Wolves swear loyalty to both the Lyran throne and its people – thus making them a part of the Lyran forces …. And now politically acceptable …

Again, this can only be considered interference by TPTB!

And finally, Phellan’s children via the eugenics program with Ranna …

Sorry Phelan no children for you as it is against Clan tradition …. As per Nicholas Kerensky’s Law

https://www.sarna.net/wiki/Ethan_Moreau

“Ethan Moreau was a Star League Defense Force officer and Gunslinger who would stay behind on the Pentagon Worlds during Nicholas Kerensky's Second Exodus. After a show of great contrition he would be forgiven by the ilKhan and allowed to join the Clans. He would rise to be the first Loremaster of Clan Goliath Scorpion within two years of his adoption, though he would never be allowed to have his genes added to the Clans' eugenics program.”

“This occasion became the basis for the modern Ritual of Adoption, and has been observed ever since by the Clans. His adoption was not without a condition: Moreau would never be allowed to contribute to the Clan eugenics program. He would be allowed to keep his full name.”

Thus calling himself Phelan Wolf – should this also be considered an error also? So as per Clan tradition Phelan Kell not Phelan Wolf?

I once more call shenanigans!

So where is the consistency of Clan Culture and Traditions PTB?
