The nameless writer was line developer Randall Bills. When I was writing the USILR code descriptions for planets in ATOW I had to ask him about the scope of BT technology to help frame the discussion. He made the point in email that BT was all about "big stompy robots," not nanotech and quantum whatsit wonders.
