I've been wondering something about IndustrialMechs. • Do they undergo any safety tests? • If so, what tests must they undergo before they're legal for sale? • Are there consumer-facing safety ratings? What does the average look like? • Who sets and enforces those safety standards? • Are there any particular units which would fail those standards? • Under what circumstances would an IndustrialMech be exempt from those standards?
I figure this kind of world-building information might be particularly useful for my XTRO: Heavy Industry project, since I can't use standard military-themed world building information.

Safety tests matter.
The problem is, are they even considered, if they are even done?
Battlemechs and even warships have been put into operation, and had fatal flaws in them. Quicksell has fluff suggesting when you buy a vehicle from them, you are lucky to have all the parts to finish assembling their products, and don't expect they are complete. The Cameron Warship is yet another example of a unit that wasn't tested correctly, and failed during combat.
The game says life is cheap.
I got to learn how to spell...

Here's the rating system I've come up with...
MOHS IndustrialMech Safety Rating: A: Exceptional B: Good C: Above Average D: Adequate E: Borderline F: Unacceptable X: Exempt*
*This is done strictly on a case-by-case basis, though many existing designs are grandfathered in.
