I've been wanting to try some scenarios with Exceptionally Large Units or Mobile Structures, like a moving landship or something.

Unfortunately the ONLY resource I have found about such things is p.64 and 65 in the Commander's Edition and it is somewhat vague on the actual operation of an ELU.

Does anyone know of any examples, videos, etc that might help me better understand how to use one?

The closest thing I can think of is moving grounded dropships at a spaceport, Setting the ships on a platform that is moved by rails to another location. And even that might just be limited to raising and lowering the platform to allow a more level flow of items to and from the dropships.

Jumpships and warships might have a system like that to allow the unit to move in and out of a station for repairs, if the bay is pressurized.

I do know a few dropships have hydrolics to raise and lower the ship. Been a while, but I believe the intruder dropship has this to avoid units from getting under the dropship while it is landed.

Given the ability to make 'legs' for things, it should be possible to make a walking unit, but I don't see it moving more then one hex per turn, and having to keep on flat terrain. But I don't make the rules for the game.
I could see a little faster movement but being limited to rails.

Given the fact that the Mammoth dropship can land, I could see engines providing lift to allow the craft to hover, and allow faster movement.

But as for canon resources, I don't have that information.

Yeah, the actual resources consists of almost a single page and some firing-arc diagrams in the manual, and virtually nothing about how I could do it. Now that I think about it, I think there are some more scenarios in other material for Alpha Strike, maybe I can find something in there?

Though I started learning BT on Alpha Strike, it seems like classic rules and scenarios might be easily adapted to AS, if so I'd just have to find ones similar to what I am attempting.

I'm trying to create two scenarios, one where two 4 inch long drilling rigs are trying to escape capture from attackers on a moon, and another where one side is trying to stop a slow moving 6 to 10 inch long land-ship from reaching their vulnerable dropship on a savanna-like planet.

If you succeed, be sure to share the results.

The mobile long tom is said to be a series of sections of towed units in a train like set up. That might help with figuring something out.

If you stick with physics (which the game bends at times), I don't see a solid unit being able to turn well if wheeled, or even tracked. So some other form of movement would probably be needed. Or a limited amount of time to move, followed by a time of 'resting'.
This might well be the case for a large saucer style unit as well.

I would think a multiple cart style unit might be best for the scenario.
The first unit being the drilling station. (like that needed to be said)
The second could be power/air purifiers or tanks. Not sure if you would try a fusion power, or something else, like generators and batteries. Depending on company finances, the generators might be the way to go. Then again, a fusion plant might well be why it is being chased.

Now if you are using like an oil drill rig, that changes a few things.
