The DRN Dreadnougth was designed by Krupp
Armaments to be "The final word in assult mechs".
Obviously, it isn't. It is, however, a quite devistating peice
of equipment. Mounting tripple Krupp Gauss Riffles
backed up by an impressive laser array, the DRN is quite
capible of "reaching out and touching someone".
Defensively it's 19+ tons of armor is much more then just
"adiquate". Basicaly, anything that gett's in range of this
beast is going to wish it didn't.

That, however, is the DRN's drawback. Not wanting to
install an XL engine means that the DRN is much slower
then almost any other mech. Weather or not Krupp's
tradeoff of speed for firepower and duribility pans out
remains to be seen.

Only 1 problem there... I don't belive in 99% of Level 3.... in my universe, it just doesn't exist.

That's partialy because I don't have the rules for it and partialy because what I do know of it makes me somewhat ill...

As for the idea... no... the mech wouldn't be the same. Taht tripple gauss punch makes it a killer... twin gauss makes it a "oh, another one?"

sure... if you can find me the crit spaces for it... it doesn't have 14 free crits as it is, otherwise I would have installed endosteel.

I'd agree... Drop one gauss for a PPC, add in more ammo for the Gauss. ECM and an active probe would also be nice... or one of those advanced targeting systems.

well with only 10.666667 shots thats not that big of threat in an extended battle... If you're not willing to drop a gauss, I'd drop a Med or two and add some more Ammo. Though the amount of Med's alone is quite attractive...

I'm actualy toying with the idea of dropping a med laser (because 6 meds + all 3 gauss + walk = balanced heat).

I wasn't sure about what to replace it with, because it realy does have adiquate ammo for a fight (just how many gauss rounds does it take to kill a mech?????)

As for replacing a gauss with a PPC... no.. it wouldn't have the same style. (many of my designs aren't "perfect", but they do have style to them).

Well one on one its fine... possible even against 2 but anymore then that and you better have a 1/1 pilot.

I normally fight with atleast company size forces... or Dual Lances... so after this mech engages the first few it would be running low...

I do like the triple guass, though...

and it would make short work of any mech if all 3 hit, atleast twice or all hit in the same location... ooohh how about a targeting computer... Oh yeah its lvl 2... Are all of those new targeting systems lvl 3?

well nuff for now... I Do like the mech... no doubt about that...
But it a campaign setting I still think it needs more ammo... If this is more of a Duel or Solaris Mech its perfect.
