this is for the truly insane ultra efficient killers...
I'm having a turnament to see who can supply the best 20 ton mech to kill all others on the field...
RULES FOR ENTRY:
-only 20 ton IS mech's. level 2 tech.
-only 1 ranged weapon
-must have a physical weapon
-the rest is open (ECM, probes, etc)
each mech is assigned a 2/2 pilot. the mechs will be put into an all out brawl. the survivor wins. Clan honnor rules will be used to prevent teaming up. there will also be a 100 ton, Clan neutral mech piloed by my 7 year old brother. he will provide the random chaos. the "turret mech" will be sporting 2 ER large lasers, 2 hatchets, and 38 tons of hardened armour. the thing also has 4 walking with JJ's. the map will be one I pick out at random by attaching them to my wall and throwing darts. good luck compeditors.
Deadline Saturday April 13th.
tounement will be Sunday the 14th.

==Overview:==
The Forrester is a fusion-powered Forestry 'Mech of great repute. Its heavy hatchet allowed it to clear large areas of trees with great expediency. Several models included flamers or inferno SRMs: useful in creating firebreaks, and the powerful GM-2120 jump jet boosters allowed it to proceed rapidly over difficult terrain.
So when Terra's American Northwest Mechanics, which had previously only produced 20-ton Agro- and WorkerMechs, tried to break in to the Battlemech market, the obvious place to start was with the StarEx special games and an upgraded Forrester.
==Capabilities:==
The American Northwest Mechanics FOR99QX incorporates a greay deal of advanced technology. Its diamond-bladed hatchet has been reinforced for combat and now masses 2036 kg. Advanced Triple-Strength Myomers were fitted to give it additional striking force, and to help it close on its target, it was fitted with a Guardian ECM Suite and an unique American Northwest Mechanics Null-Signature Armor System.
Unfortunately, any use of the NSAS disables the ECM unit and causes the machine's heat levels to skyrocket, but that causes little difficulty for the FOR-99QX, which has a well-cooled cockpit, and very little which will explode at high temperatures. Also, to squeak in under the mass requirements for the StarEx games, ANM was forced to use a GM 180XL engine.
Still ANM continues to work on correcting these issues.

It was a fine day at the StarEx Training grounds as 6 mechs from around the Inner Sphere compeated in h StarEx special games. and here are the results from the games...
1) Bratwurst -KamakaziJohnson
2) Water Fork -JMInc.
3) Forrester -Bob Richter
4) Piddly -NovaKitty
5) Podderhead -Hellbringer
6) Fencer -Diablo_612
Fencer vs Bratwurst
immediatly swinging towards Bratwurst and calling the official challange. Fencer let go with 20 MRM's. 10 of which impacted craters up Bratwursts leg, nearly penetrating the armour. Bratwurst got pissed and sent a beam of energy killing Fencers MRM and damaging shielding. Fencer bravly fought on trying desperatly to swing his swod but Bratwurst finished the job by slicing off Fencers Left Torso.
Podderhead vs Piddly
Podderhead was the first to move off the start. running full speed towrds his opponent and calling the challange. Piddly engaged his Jumpjets, sending him landing atop of a hill. Podderhead fialed to get a lock with his streak SRM 6 and gave Piddly a chance for a free hit with his medium laser. scoring a hit in Podder's left torso. Podderhead then ran up the hill after Piddly, but piddly simply made a short jump behind him. drilling a hole in his back and killing some engine shielding. Podderhead reached around and let a flight of SRM's go, but the damage was too spread out to make Piddly worry. Podderhead then ran to the summet of the hill as Piddly fadded into a near by forest. suddenly striking from some thick woods and scoring another hit up Podder's leg. Podderhead turned and got his sword stuck in a tree but shot SRM's into Piddly's left arm and leg. this was the turning point. Podderhead ran full throttle down hill to safety while piddly slowly walked though some woods. Podderhead again reahced around and let a flight of SRM's blow off Piddly's leg. piddly while falling manage to get off his own shot that killed Podderhead's leg too! podder turned around in mid air and plowed into the ground. with both of them on the ground, and with Piddly in the tree's. it bacmame quite a stand off. Podder fired for some head damage. but Piddly's pilot stayed with it untill he managed to fry the rest of podders left torso. killing podderhead.
Piddly vs Bratwurst
Bratwurst was waiting silently atop of a hill waiting for a targert when piddly managed to kill podderhead. Bratwurst took a pot shot at the wounded mech and incinierated Piddlys right arm. with no hope of ever fighting again, Pddly threw in the towel and surrendered.
Forrester vs Water Fork
Forrester made the battle challange first, walking confidently towards Water Fork. Water Fork immediatly seeing his advantage of a ranged weapon, back peddled out to an effective range and fired a double burst from his Ultra AC/2. both shots missed due to his hastey aiming. forrester, try as he might, could not get into hatchet distance of Water Fork, Water Fork all the time getting in some insignificant damage. finally, Forrester dcided to use some strategy, luring Water Fork into some open terrain, Forretser Charged Water Fork, doing some torso damage and also hitting hit shoulder into Water's head. Water staggared back into the edge of the arena where he decided to stand up and fight hand to hand. it was an increadable match! both of them scoring some good hits, but then Water Fork got a hatchet into Forretster's head. knockng him unconciouss. Water Fork took careful aim with his AC/2, but then Forrester woke up! Water Fork quickly shot a wild shot, the first burst missed into the center torso but then walking the second shot into the head. again knocking Forrester unconcious. Water Fork decided to get rid of Forrester's axe while he could and lobbed off Forresters right arm. then lining up his hatchet, he slmmed it into Forresters head, killing Bob Richter inside.
the biref, Water Fork vs Bratwurst
Bratwurst, after racking up 2 kills, was watching this amusing fight from atop his hill, ever adjusting the aim of his Large laser. as soon as he saw Forrester go down, he quickly engaged his trusty TC and hit Water Forks center torso hard, walking it over the engine to destroy the shielding all together, a brilliant flash of an uncontroled fussion reaction signaled the end of the match.

I can't believe that stupid Water Fork actually killed something...I threw it in as a joke! But then again, if Bob's Gauss Triplet thing can kill an Atlas, I guess anything's possible

Taken out by a lucky shot to the arm. The Piddly probably would have done better aganst any other mech for the first fight. At least it trashed Hellbringer's design before he could get any real bragging rights.
