Overview:
with the impending invasion of the clan homeworlds by StarEx. The researchers wanted to produce a very light mech to produce en masse to load up their lighter dropships. so th Virus was created.
Capabilities:
The virus weighs a mere 10 tons, but can deliver plenty of firepower and speed. using a StarEx special light 70 rated engine to propell the design at over 100km/h. the design also mounts 2 of the new SX heavy medium lasers to give it firepower superior to most scout mechs three times it's size. the only drawback to the design is the obvious lack of armour. but the designers were confident that the mechs speed should keep it out of serious harm and a 10 ton mech usually wouldn't be a prime target anyway.
Deployment:
there are approximatly 300 on there way towards clan space now and another 300 in reserve on Terra. also more will be produced for sale to other houses for the low low price of 1 650 000 C-Bills per mech...

I'm sorry to have to say this, but that XL engine makes it more expensive than most any non-XL 20 tonner.
And I'm not even going to *touch* the whole Clantech-factory-on-Terra bit...
For example, a (IS, of course) 20t, ES, max armor, DHS, 5/8/5, ER-LL toting mech racks in at only ©1,468,240.
And, if you go clan, you can have tons of fun with quad or hex ERMLs for only a couple thousand more (say, ©1.7-1.8 mil).
