Recently, I've been having a look at building dedicated Bombers myself. My first attempts were largely over-engined, totally weaponless 20-odd ton AeroSpace Fighters, because you can load a lot of extra bombs on without loosing too much speed. However, it struck me that FASA already built several designs like that anyway, like the Sparrow Hawk, Seydlitz, and so on. I went up in weight ranges, then realised that bombing was only of any use inside of an atmosphere anyway, so purpose-building an AeroSpace Fighter for a bombing role was kinda self-defeating. So I turned to conventional aircraft for the answer, because they are inherently a lot less cheesy than ASFs, and force you to be more careful when you build them. Experiments progress fairly well. Anyway, those are my thoughts on Bombers in general. On to your design.

The thing is quite solid, but I must ask...why the LRMs? It's not as if you can drop Thunders from them, and (unless the rules changed in AT2) you can only use Energy weapons on strafing runs anyway. Given the fighter's design role as a Bomber, I'dve expected to see weapons that can be used effectively on strafing runs after the bombs are all used up. If you've ever played Total Annihilation, I'm thinking of the Phoenix-Class Bomber that the Arm uses.

The thought occurs to me: can you dedicate OmniPod space to bomb loads? The kind of flexibility offered by such a system might make the cost worthwhile.

Also, what about an Operation Serpent-esque variant packing TAG for Arrow Bombs?

Finally, what is a Drill Missile? Or do you just mean 10 tons of bombs?

PS: Have you read my reply to your EW Corvette yet?
Yea, verily. Let it be known far and wide that Nightward loathes MW: DA. Indeed, it is with the BURNING ANIMUS OF A THOUSAND SUNS that he doth rage against it with.

First the bomb rules as given in AT2 have had some modifactions done to them. I believe the help file in HMAero talks about this, if not then the planned errata sheet will as far as I know.

The ship and it's oradance is taken from a very well know anime sci-fi show...so everything on it matches what is given for the stats for this bomber.

The drill missile is just what it says...a missile that drills into a ship...now I think you can guess which anime show I am talking about...

As for omni-pods for bombs, I am not sure...the external oradance is more or less changable as needed...as far as I know.

As for the other question no I have not read it yet, but I will been recovering from a hard drive crash...

a good bomber but a good commander would have aerfighters to pounce this baby during or after it unleashes its payload,

True. That's why it would have some form of CAP covering it.
