Overview:
The SToMeC is an acronym for the Sixty Ton Mech that Could.
StarEx wanted to make a mech that could make hit and run attacks
against opponents, deep within enemy lines. while at the same time,
deal massive damage and take it as well. The mech did surprisingly
well in live fire field tests. The only disadvantage to this design
is it's costs. but then again, since when has SX ever cared?
Capabilities:
The SToMeC is a surprisingly fast, 60, PPC wielding, C3 uplinked,
Armoured machine-o-death. Weilding 2 ER PPC cannons. one in each arm,
it can spread massive damage around using it's multi track targeting
system, or center it on one target. The mech was designed to keep up
with most lighter designs. while also being able to take punishment
from designs a class heavier. While the C3 computer system installed
in the head keeps it in touch with the rest of it's lance mates.
Deployment:
So far only 12 mechs have been built and are being held in
reserve untill numbers grow.
Battle History:
The SToMeC has seen live fire combat against other SX mechs and
has done surprisingly well.
Known Variants:
The SToMeC C, replaces both PPC's with Large Lasers in the same
locations, Removes 3 of the heatsinks and the C3 Slave for a C3
Master computer in the left torso, a BAP and an ECM suit in the right
torso. This varient is used to cammand Lances of SToMeC's.
