A comparatively fast mech capable of taking considerable damage while remaining operational, the Wolverine now serves in the Successor State medium and recon lances. Its long and impressive history spans both the Star Leage and the era of the Succession Wars. - Capabilites: The WVR-6G is House Laio's atempt at making a medium gureilla fighter. The Whirlwind Autocannon is dropped in favor of a Fusigon Particle Projection Cannon, same as used by the Griffin. An additional medium laser was added to the left arm to increase the short range fire power and a heat sink to help control the added heat build up. House Liao is currently please with the results. - - WVR-6G Wolverine - Technology Base: - Inner Sphere - Level 1 Equipment Mass Internal Structure: 5.5 Engine: 275 15.5 Walking MP: 5 Running MP: 8 Jumping MP: 5 Heat Sinks: 13 3 Gyro: 3 Cockpit: 3 Armor Factor: 152 9.5

Why are they doing this variant? And where is it going to see action?

Why? Not sure, I just wanted to make a wolverine with a PPC. As for using house Liao, I just picked one at random
Where? I figure as a hit and run mech, avoiding fights when possible or scout support mech / hunter . With 3 energy weapons it can can out for some time. I left the SRM to differentiat it from the Griffon or that Shadow Hawk variaint with the PPC in the torso and 16 heat sinks.
Some of my variations have no practicle use other then "what if they use this set of weapons." Think of an alternate BT universe where the largest energy weapon is the medium laser and the Warhammer, Maruader, Awesome have ACs instead of PPCs. The Archer uses SRMs instead of LRM. All light mechs can only use small lasers due to amount of energy needed to operate the mech and still have something left over for weapons. Makes for interesting variations.

Thanks for the insight into the mech.

Wolverines have A/Cs, or occasionally lasers, that abomination from Project Phoenix notwithstanding.
Nice 'Mech, but it looks too much like a Griffon for my tastes. That's just me, though.
Yea, verily. Let it be known far and wide that Nightward loathes MW: DA. Indeed, it is with the BURNING ANIMUS OF A THOUSAND SUNS that he doth rage against it with.

I haven't seen Project Phoneix, but this model is very close to the Griffon. But if I was piloting either mech, I would prefer PPC as a main gun and SRM as back up, with 2 secondary medium lasers. Dunno, I just like it that way I don't really like LRMs
"Hey, your aim sucks. You launched 40 LRMs at that Riflemen. It has two damaged hip actuators, a missing left foot, off center gyros, cracked engine shielding, and the pilot is stunned after falling on its back. You only hit it with 7 missiles!"
bad scenario I once had, my to hit rolls succeeded but had low rolls on the LRM table.
