The European Union, like the rest of the nations of Earth, is far less technologically advanced than the Luna Consortium. They lack the technology to build the high caliber lasers and long range PPC technology that arms most of the LC mechs.
------------------------------------------------------------------------ ESR-1 Earthstrike
Chassis: Unknown Power Plant: Unknown 360 XL Cruising Speed: 43 Maximum Speed: 64.5 Jump Jets: Unknown Jump Capacity: 90 meters Armor: Unknown with CASE Armament: 2 Ultra AC/5s 2 Small Lasers 3 Medium Pulse Lasers 4 Machine Guns 1 ER PPC Manufacturer: Unknown Primary Factory: Unknown Communications System: Unknown Targeting and Tracking System: Unknown with Beagle Active Probe
Overview: The ESR-1 Earthstrike was originally developed by the Luna Consortium, but the design was stolen by the European Union long before it could be developed as an effective weapon. Instead of trying to develop the design further, the LC let the technologically inferior nation have it and began work on other designs.
Capabilities: Compared to the mechs of the LC, this mech is rather weak, but it is much more capable than any of the designs furnished by any Terran Nation. It is intended primarily for defense, since any Terran nation hasnt been able to mount a significant offensive in over 50 years. The mech is armed mostly with Autocannons since the European Union lacks the technology to build anything but the most rudimentary PPCs and lasers. This requires it to stay close to lines of supply in order to keep its dual primary Ultra-Class Autocannons fully stocked.
Deployment: Most of the EarthStrikes are deployed in the British 52nd Division(Highlanders), which is deployed in the New Paris region. A few have found there way into other Mech units, and there are rumors that a Swiss Merc group managed to construct one from salvage.[HARD RETURN]The first lances of the mech were delivered in 2275.
Battle History: Shortly after delivery in 2275, the 52nd(Highlanders) was attacked near the outskirts of New Paris. Unaware that they fielded a new mech design, the 3rd Regiment of the Terran Corps ran head first into a company of the new Earthstrikes and their dual Ultra-Autocannons. These weapons ripped the Terran Corp mechs to shreds until their ammo ran out, forcing them to retreat to resupply. Although the 52nd was eventually forces to pull back, the 3rd Regiment took heavy casualties and was unable to continue their offensive action.
Known Variants: There are no known variants of the Earthstrike.

I don't lnow that I would want to use it on a regular BT game (too much ammo and not enough long range firepower) but this mech would be a flat-out bitch to face in the Solaris 7 boxed set rules.
Does not play well with others.

I am not going to tell you how to design mechs to fit your universe, but would a standard level 1 PPC be the most rudimentary? It makes more sense if they have inferior technology (PPC 10 dmg 10 heat, 18 rng), discover and develope an energy weapon with greater range (IS PPC 10 dmg 15 heat 23 rng), then build the most sophisticated (Clan ER PPC 15 dmg, 15 heat 23 rng).
I like the idea though
Popular Bumper Stickers
“Keep honking: I’m re-loading”
“If you don’t mind, please eject now: that Mech is a **** to salvage"
“I ran out of room to stencil all the Mechs I’ve killed, so now I just go by regiment’s wiped out.”

Thanx for pointing that out. I didnt even realize that I had used a Clan ER PPC instead of the level 1 IS PPC.
I have fixed the mech. Here is the updated model.
