==Overview:==
The Saratoga class carrier is a a hybrid, meant to carry a combination of
fighters, dropships's and moniters. With this mix in mind the Saratoga carrys
the equivilant of of two light cruisers as escorts even though the moniters
themselves are the size of small corvettes, also included in this mix is eight
dropships, the normal force mixture is normaly 4 Vengance class CV's and 4
Overlords Assualt ships which have been modified for greater speed, armor and
firepower, this was done by the removal of the Overlord's mech bays.
==Capabilities:==
With the mulititude of secondary support ships, the primary abilities of the
Saratoga are sometimes overlooked, the Saratoga itself carrys 216 fighters,
equaling the fighter load carried by Thera Class Carriers while doing it on a
smaller hull. Also is the firepower that the Saratoga wields armed with
a combination of 6 NAC 35's and 16 NAC 25's and a array of 30 MNPPC'c the
Saratoga is capable of defending itself against other Capitail ships and
Dropships, against fighters the Saratoga is defended by 92 ER PPC's, against
fighters and missiles the ship mounts 104 Small Pulse Lasers.
Last but not least is the Saratoga's last line of defence form damage is
her armor mounting over 1,360 tons of Lamellor Ferro-carbide armor, giving her
the protection needed on the modern battlefield of space.
In the case of enemy boarding parties the Saratoga has on board a
compliment of 100 Powered Armor Marines, which prove to be a powerfull
deterent.

==Deployment==
So far the Saratoga has only been deployed to the Deep Periphericy, this is
to work out any design flaws in controlled conditions while also letting the
ship and her crew to test and drill until the ship gains the rank of a veteran
status. When this status is achieved the Saratoga is expected to be deployed
in the Inner Sphere to zones of conflict where the ships abilities are
needed.
At this present time only the Saratoga is active, her sister ship the
Lexington is still being built and not expected to be ready for trials for
another two years.
