In 3022 amid much ado a small crafter of custom mechs announced to all whom were intressted that they had perfected the "Short Range Fire Support" unit. The mech they revealed has become one of the most despised mechs to still linger about battlefields. The mech's original name has all but been lost as during the companies PR blitz the head designer Blair Moody became synonimous with the design. This was never downplayed by the company that allowed their eccentric designer to star in the promotional holovids and even coin the term "Tell em Blair sent ya, and we will make it special for ya!" This of course was a pun on the fact that the few BLR-2s made were all hand made from whatever parts were available, much like the Bandersnatch of recent years.

The "Blair Special" attempted to basically use concepts of fire support mech design to build a viable short range support unit. Needless to say that the mech's thin armor and poor heat dissipating abilities combined with its small ammo bins make it a notoriously poor brawler. The mech has seen extensive refits in attempts to correct these problems though none made it a more viable design.

I find that 'pinpoint' accuracy during a bombing run increases proportionally with the amount of munitions used.
