Faced with the astronomical expenses of rebuilding its military after the civil war the Federated Commonwealth desperately researched new methods of creating "cheap weapons" such as the Combine's famous (infamous) MRM systems. Due to the FedCom's vast experience with autocannons it isn't surprising that the first such designs to prove at all viable are these new "downgraded" autocannons. Poor Acuracy (or PA) Autocannons remove most of the sophisticated electronic aiming components and barrel recoil adjusters from a standard autocannon, drastically dropping both the weapons accurac and its cost to produce. A portion of this extra space in the weapon's casing is then reallocated to reinforce the chamber allowing more charge per shot. This increase in propellant allows most version of PA Autocannons to outrange even their LBX cousins.

Notes: When determining damage done by a PA Autocannon first roll on the missiles hit table for the appropriate size. This is the amount of damage the autocannon does to a single location as per a normal autocannon. On a to hit roll of 2 the PA Autocannon develops a crack in its chamber rendering it useless till fixed by a tech (cross off any 1 of the Autocannon's Critical spaces). Also note PA ACs are NOT compatiable with any special munition types, and require their own specialized type of munitions (much like slug ammo for LBXs).

Comments, Suggestions, ...flames?
I find that 'pinpoint' accuracy during a bombing run increases proportionally with the amount of munitions used.

I like, I like! Damage is variable, but range has improved nicely. The damage grouping makes the weapons more useful than missile launchers in some situations.

Glad to have your aproval...
For the masses may I present the first PA AC mech the dependable Centurion CN9-P
CN9-P
The CN9-P is a standard refit of the CN9-A with the following changes to the weapon load. It removes the second, rear facing, medium laser. It replaces the AC/10 and ammo with a PA AC/10 and ammo. This frees 2 tons total which it uses to replace the LRM-10 and ammo with the MRM-20 and 2 tons of ammo.
The new PA AC/10 covers much of the range previously covered by the dedicated LRM launcher. The MRMs have proven cheaper and drastically augment the Centurion's medium/short range firepower.
The CN9-P is likely to remain unpopular despite the popularity of the mech it is based on due to the low tech weapons it mounts.
