In 3030 among the tumult of the times Diverse Optics long a leader in spherwide manufacture of lasers began a series of projects investigating the economic feasibility of a new series of lasers. These lasers, which some have linked to lostech conspiracies, were designed to work at power levels between that of the current, widely popular, laser designs. Dubbed Intra-Range Lasers the prototypes fell in the performance wedges between the small and mium lasers, and the medium and long range lasers. Marketting was quick in reaching the decision that such a project would likely be an economic failure though all prototypes are believed to still exist [ed. one of which, a fuctioning Medium-Short range Laser is preserved in working condition at the NAIS museum].
