JUMPING PYROMANIAC GENERIC

The JPG (commonly referred to as the "jay-peg") was designed in response to the Inferno Firemech. Lord Saurus discovered that his flamer infantry squads were insufficient for burning down cities and terrorizing the general populace. The Inferno Firemech was able to extinguish their flames and arrest them before they could do any serious damage. Therefore, Lord Saurus commissioned the Jumping Pyromaniac project and passed it on to his trusty servant Dr. Jeer. The doctor built a prototype Jumping Pyromaniac Commander's Type for Lord Saurus' personal use, then cut off a few tons to create the JPG mass-production model. Lord Saurus looks forward to deploying many JPG units into various cities and letting them wreak havoc while also being able to fight the Inferno Firemech at the same time. Lord Saurus has specifically ordered that the Inferno Firemech's pilot be captured alive so that he can torture him. It is rumored that Dr. Jeer used to be a good man who designed the perfect firefighting 'mech that can defeat swarms of JPGs and rescue people at the same time, but Dr. Jeer denies having ever designed such a thing.

Jumping Pyromaniac Generic (Burning Type)

The Burning Type's sole purpose is to set fire to a lot of things and destroy firefighting vehicles. Pretend that the SRM-6 is Inferno, and you'll see what I mean.

The name of the Suicide Type explains precisely what it is for. They wear "jackets" loaded with machine guns and have two long belts of ammunition slung across each shoulder. Pilots who have survived more than three missions in a Fodder Type are given a Suicide Type as a reward - and also as a way to make them die faster, since experienced pilots draw more of a salary than normal ones.

The Squad Leader type is designed to actually be somewhat survivable. Its Laser AMS gives it protection against the average civilian missile squad. It cannot face too many missiles at once, or else its heat skyrockets. It supports the rest of its squad with Advanced Tactical Missiles. At close range, the range in which the other JPGs thrive, the Squad Leader cannot do quite as much. It is still dangerous to get close to a Squad Leader, of course.
