Ick: mixed tech.
Good explanation for mixed tech, though. This won't be a mass-produced design, but you can easily see an IS force building one of these from salvage, neh?
Ick twice over: MFUK RAC/5. They're MFUK weapons (ick one) and they're non-canonical (ick two).
But never fear, there's an easy fix: If you can find one more crit for it, you can fit in an IS RAC/5 (which is also 10 tons). Then you reduce the ick factor two steps.
Good scout mech.

Is this a scratch-built IS 'Mech, or is this a Clan 'Mech with a RAC/5 on it? If it uses Clan XL, Clan EI, Clan weaponry, and one IS weapon, it sounds more like some Clanner's test 'Mech for captured IS technology than an IS 'Mech using captured Clan technology. Why not just make it all-Clan anyway?

Because IS "kitbashing" techs probably don't have all-Clan components to work with.

Fair enough, though you'll probably want to watch how you mix-n-match equipment across faction lines. A RAC (fairly closely held by Davions), stealth armor (largely a Capellan secret product), and a lot of Clan items are hard to justify. It's kind of like seeing a Cold War-era Russian tank with American laminate armor and a French main gun.
Your best bet might be to describe this mech as a Capellan project with Davion and Clan components purchased off the black market by a wide-ranging Maskirovka operation. Of course, the question is, why would the Capellans put so much effort into one mech? This wouldn't be a production model. In that case, perhaps the best answer would be, "An ex-Federated Commonwealth merc unit picked up a lot of Clan salvage before taking a contract with the Capellans to avoid participating in the FC civil war."
Still, all this mixed tech is a bit funky. Have you tried to stick with faction-pure designs? They have a lot fewer headaches when it comes to explaining them.
