History[edit]
Star League Era[edit]
During the Star League era the Sixteenth Avalon Hussars were known for being able to load into their DropShips in considerably less time than the Armed Forces of the Federated Suns average - sometimes managing to load in just a third of the time another regiment would take. This was a result of the extensive training the Hussars undertook alongside their DropShip crews; the Sixteenth were also known for specializing at making orbital insertions and excelling at launching rapid strikes against enemy targets.[2]
First Succession War[edit]
The Sixteenth was one of seven Avalon Hussars regiments to be destroyed during the First Succession War.[1]

Tactics[edit]
During the Star League era all of the Avalon Hussars were required to focus on being both flexible and mobile, with every regiment required to be capable of deploying within eight hours, although many of the Hussars struggled to actually achieve this. The Sixteenth were experts at launching rapid strikes using massed firepower.[2]
