The 179th BattleMech Division was a part of the Star League Defense Force Regular Army.
History[edit]
The 179th won the Best Division category of the SLDF's twenty-fifth Martial Olympiad in 2736 held on Outreach.[3][4]
In 2764, the unit was assigned as part of LXVI Corps, Third Army to District 2 of the Federated Suns Military Region.[1] The 179th garrisoned Hoyleton,[5] an important exporter of processed meats which provided a large amount of the protein found in SLDF field rations throughout the Federated Suns Military Region.[2]
The 179th was moved to an undisclosed area of the Periphery in 2765, where it was destroyed during the Periphery Uprising.[1]
