The 299th Mechanized Infantry Division was a part of the Star League Defense Force Regular Army.
History[edit]
In 2764, the unit was stationed on Offerman,[3] assigned as part of LXIX Corps, Third Army to District 2 of the Federated Suns Military Region.[1] The 299th monitored and guarded the Offerman Atomics Limited fission power plants to make sure the equipment didn't fall into the wrong hands and potentially be reconfigured into nuclear weapons.[2]
The 299th was moved to an undisclosed area of the Periphery in 2765, where they were destroyed during the Periphery Uprising.[1]

Tactics[edit]
The Mechanized Infantry divisions of the Star League were used offensively to exploit gaps in the enemy front created by the BattleMech divisions. They also bore the brunt of defensive actions.[4]
Composition History[edit]
The Division comprised two brigades of mechanized infantry and a single BattleMech brigade. Also attached was a ground aero wing.[4]
