The Fourth Liao Lancers were raised as part of the Liao Lancers brigade. As was traditional with the Liao Lancers, approximately one third of their force consisted of citizens of their name world, in this case St. Andre. The St. Andre Lancers were known throughout the CCAF for their habit of wearing cravats provided by their lovers, and allowing those same lovers to decorate a panel on the upper torso of their BattleMechs.[1]
They were one of the seven Liao Lancer units to exist before the repeal of the Council Edict of 2650. In 2765 they were stationed on their namesake world.[1]
First Succession War[edit]
In late 2787 the Fourth deployed in support of the Fourth Tikonov Lancers for the invasion of Hean, a former Terran Hegemony system that had been claimed by the Federated Suns. The Armed Forces of the Federated Suns defenders had been anticipating an attack by troops from the Draconis Combine, and when the two Capellan regiments invaded the AFFS troops found themselves both outnumbered and unprepared for the hit, run and harass tactics used by the Lancers. Hean had been conquered by November 2787.[2]

2786–2821[edit]
Fourth Liao Lancers ((Regiment/Green/Fanatical)[3]
- - In 2786 the Fourth were a medium-weight regiment, operating at full strength and stationed on St. Andre.[3] In 2821 the unit was reduced to just over a third of full strength and were stationed on Small World.[3]
2830[edit]

- Note: At this point in time the assault-weight unit was stationed on Small World with an operational readiness of 88 percent.[4]The unit was destroyed during the war.[4]
