History[edit]

Second Succession War[edit]

In the Sixth Battle of Andurien the Fifth Oriente Hussars and the 3rd Marik Militia landed on Andurien to face CCAF troops. After two months of fighting the Fifth drove the Capellans off the world.[1] After this fighting, they were reduced to 28% of their nominal full strength.[2]

Third Succession War[edit]

Had been stationed on Sierra since 3021, where they were initially viewed with suspicion. The attitude of the locals changed when the Fifth defeated raiders from the Circinus Federation in 3035.[3]

Anton's Revolt[edit]

In 3014 the 31st Marik Militia was trapped on Uhuru by the 9th Lyran Regulars and Narhal's Raiders. The Fifth, along with the 3rd Oriente Hussars, relieved the trapped unit and drove the Lyran attackers off-world.[4]

Fourth Succession War[edit]

Andurien Secession[edit]

In 3035 raiders from the Circinus Federation attacked Sierra. The skill and dedication the Fifth demonstrated in repelling these invaders improved the relationship of the Fifth with the local population, who to that point disliked the FWLM troops.[5]

Operation Guerrero[edit]

Operation Bulldog[edit]

Jihad[edit]

Post-Jihad Era[edit]

The Fifth Oriente Hussars garrisoned Anegasaki in 3079.[6]

In 3081 the Avior and Muscida systems were under a military interdiction; as an attempt to curb the activities of the Principality of Regulus units constantly raiding into the Duchy of Oriente, Oriente forces had seized the jump points in each system to allow them to search all inbound and outbound traffic. At the same time, elements of the 5th Oriente Hussars were suppressing Regulan supply bases on the surface of both planets.[7]
