History[edit]

Post-Tukayyid[edit]

The Sixth Striker Cluster was still in the process of forming up 3059 and filling its ranks when it moved to Luzerne. [1]

Operation Bulldog[edit]

Operation Bird Dog[edit]

As part of this clandestine campaign Allens Animals, a company sized unit from the Third Davion Guards, dropped onto Luzerne in May 3059. The Sixth did not bid to engage the Animals and left the Fourth Garrison Cluster that were also on planet to deal with the threat.[2]

Wave Two[edit]

Luzerne
As part of the ongoing assault on the Occupation Zone Luzerne was attacked by the 208th ComStar Division and the Third Davion Guards RCT on 29 June 3059. The attackers requested safcon but were refused by the two warships of Epsilon Galaxy that had been assigned to escort the Sixth Striker.[3] The Snow Leopard and the Storm Cat engaged the incoming fleet destroying the CSV Harmonious Thought along with half the transport vessels and scattering the rest. Although the action also saw the loss of the Storm Cat and severe damage to the Snow Leopard.[4][5]

As the Inner Sphere forces made their landing in the Jeremiah Highlands the Sixth along with the Fourth Garrison Cluster and Kappa Galaxy Command Trinary engaged them. The Inner Sphere troops were forced to make combat drops and were repelled by the Clan defenders scattering the attackers.[6] The Spheroid troops attempted to resupply their forces, but the transports were shot down. Low on supplies elements of the Com Guards and the Davion Guards attacked Old Mesa Commons in an attempt to capture the Jaguar supplies there. The Sixth with the help of the Fourth eventually pushed them back but not before a quantity of supplies had been spirited away.[7] The fighting for the planet was bitter and drawn-out, degenerating into three separate sieges as the attackers had been forced back. On 9 July, the Sixth and Fourth attacked the city of Thün on Perot and almost destroyed the defenders base. With the death of Kappa's Galaxy Commander the sieges broke down to low intensity fighting as supplies dwindled. Inner Sphere troops in the Wyrm Lowlands attempted a breakout on 17 July, but were forced back by the combined Clan Clusters.[8]

On 1 August 3059, Inner Sphere reinforcement arrived in the form of the Ryuken-roku, By the 3 August, they made an attack towards Thün at the same time the besieged troops attempted a breakout to link up. The Sixth and the Fourth positioned themselves between the two forces to prevent this. Only a handful of the Thün defenders managed to escape to the Ryuken-roku lines, but it cost the Fourth heavy casualties.[9] Star Colonel Samantha Kotare was in overall command, she was unaware of the situation across the Occupation Zone and saw Luzerne as a lost cause. Wanting to evacuate her best troops to regroup and counterattack she decided to concentrate her forces at the Cameron Plateaux where her DropShips waited. The Ryuken-roku intercepted her force at the Deadfall Pass. The Fourth Garrison fought a savage delaying action to the death allowing just over a Binary of the Sixth's warriors to get to the DropShips, many of which were destroyed as they left the atmosphere.[10]

Huntress[edit]

A small number of warriors from the Sixth Striker escaped and managed to join up with Hang Mehta's retreating forces. These warriors were incorporated into Alpha Cluster of the Provisional Galaxy.[11]
