The Seventy-sixth Royal Dragoon Regiment was a part of the Star League Defense Force Regular Army. It was one of the SLDF's Royal units, which consisted of troops from the Terran Hegemony.
History[edit]
Prior to the formation of the Star League, the Seventy-sixth Royal Dragoon was mustered on Terra along with the Ninetieth Royal Light Horse Regiment as a paired planetary assault force. Many of the Seventy-sixth's personnel originated from the New York and Pennsylvania areas of Terra's North American continent, hence the unit's nickname: "Spirit of '76."[1]
In 2764, the Seventy-sixth was assigned as part of IX Corps, Second Army to District 1 of the Federated Suns Military Region.[2] The unit garrisoned the mining and refinement facilities on Sonnia and saw less redeployment than the rest of the IX Corps.[1]
The Seventy-sixth transferred to District 2 in 2765 as part of the New Vandenberg Uprising. With the start of the Amaris Civil War, the unit was destroyed during the Hegemony Campaign to win back Terra.[2]
