802nd Independent Aerospace Wing

The 802nd Independent Aero Wing was a part of the Star League Defense Force Regular Army. They later became attached to the Free Worlds League's Eleventh Atrean Dragoons.

History[edit]

The Star League[edit]

In 2764, the unit was assigned as a part of the XLI Corps, Ninth Army to District 2 of the Free Worlds League Military Region.[1] The 802nd sometimes operated with the Fifty-first Light Horse Regiment to provide heavier air support during patrols along the Lyran Commonwealth border.[2]

The 802nd was later transferred to an undisclosed district within the Periphery by 2765.[1]

Free Worlds League[edit]

The 802nd survived the Periphery Uprising and the Hegemony Campaign, to be absorbed by the Free Worlds League Military by 2785.[1][3][4][See Notes]

Composition History[edit]

While as an SLDF Independent Aero Wing, the 802nd had a battalion of attached mechanized infantry for security and rapid-response duties.[7][8]

As of 2764, the 802nd had a paratrooper contingent.[2]
